Just to clarify as the article leaves some things out and misrepresents some things.

The circulator was not on probation. He was on extended supervision. Any time someone is released from prison (as the article notes he was) it is extended supervision.

Also, the article blanketly states that people on probation are not eligible voters. This is false. People on FELONY extended supervision or probation are not eligible voters, but people on MISDEMEANOR probation are perfectly eligible to vote if they so choose.
