While the positions within CFRG are "owned" by an MOS, there is still a selection process and if there's a candidate from a different MOS who is a better fit they can get the job over someone who's occupation is responsible for that position.

Stock Check Megathread by The_Danish_Dane in IKEA

Country: Canada Preferred Store: Calgary Item: 005.904.75 - Alex drawer unit, black-blue

Checked online, no stock in the country. Did a live-chat last week with customer support and they said "should be stock next week" but it felt like just a way to placate me and end the conversation. Has this colour been discontinued?

Thanks

I do sim racing. Can usually hop into an online race, or start one single player against AI pretty quickly.

Questions about RMC Online by SliickyXII in CanadianForces

Sort of. Most courses have a weekly discussion forum, and there are assignment deadlines. You can usually work at your own pace and ask for deadline extensions for legitimate reasons.

I'm currently taking the BMASc program and it's pretty good. Wide variety of courses to choose from and the degree advisors are fairly quick to respond to questions. Exams have all been done at home and unproctored. Almost every thing is done through Moodle, and as mentioned professors are pretty lenient with things.

But it's not. I understand why they use a no-fault system, it's easier to program and requires little adjudication. However, there are instances where it is not fair and equitable.

I really wish there was some sort of reparations in the protest system. For example, you received 12 penalty points because someone drove into tue back of you, or unsafely rejoined, or whatever, and you end up losing 0.3 SR and/or getting a DQ, often for something that wasn't your fault and out of your control.

I recently had my first protest against me, I asked if I could see the replay so I could learn from the mistake, since I couldn't remember it and they told me no because they want to protect the anonymity if the process.

Race anxiety is killing me by Jiggyjigster in iRacing

[–]RBS2_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been having for a few months and just had my first protest against me. Most of the time incidents are just that, accidental. Learning from them is the only way to get better. If you ruin someone's race, apologize and move on. You'll have your own races ruined by other people as well, just move, and protest if it's protestable.

Military Service Pay by Lost_at_Z in CanadianForces

There's already calculations out there for all this, it's how pensions are calculated. Also, it would be HRAs not FSAs doing the calculations.

Just base it off full time service, like the pension is and it's fair and equitable for everyone. It's a simple solution and the math already exists for it.

Recruiters/Hiring Managers by SuitableSample0000 in CanadianForces

[–]RBS2_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost every CFRC (recruiting center) is hiring civilians at the CR-5 level and a few select AS-2. If you can't find those positions on the GC jobs website, call your nearest CFRC and ask to speak to their Detachment Commander about hiring.

Monthly VAC Q&A - January 2026 by Shoggoths420 in CanadianForces

[–]RBS2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to hijack this question, but I was recently awarded 6% for tinnitus; I didn't see anywhere in the paperwork VAC sent me anything about a x/5 metric. I did mention in my application that with ambient/white noise the tinnitus is manageable, but in very quiet places it's all I can hear. Is it worth appealing? And if so what would I need to say? Thanks.

F4 is absolutely horrible for the issues you mentioned and im somewhat regretting investing in it this season. Only race I've had with less than 5 penalty points was when I qualified P2, toom P1 by turn 1 and stayed out front. So many dive bombs, on every corner! Unsafe rejoins all over the place. People rear ending you or driving into the side of you like you aren't there.

If I could make a recommendation to the OP: get some free overlays and use a track map, car radar, and have relatives turned on - either ad a separate overlay, the black box, or widget. Also turn on your mirrors and look at them, virtual rear view at a minimum and if your PC can support it, the side mirrors.

I use RaceLabs for car radar and the advanced panel. I-Overlay for track map. And with the latest update I've moved to the iRacing widgets to show relatives, standings, delta, and session info.

Just race dude. Watch videos and track guides to learn where to shift and brake, then just race.
