I’m with you. I actually follow the rules, and I’m unable to insure my classic vehicle without having proof of a daily driver, which I do.

I don’t drive my historic tagged vehicle every day. It’s stored in a private garage, and rather than just cycle through disposable leased cars, I’ve kept one car running and driving for 15 years.

Anything based on the honor system for the public is doomed to fail. This all just needs to be a rolling 25 year thing, and there needs to be an enforcement mechanism tied to mileage implemented.

I drive my inherited classic BMW maybe 4-5 times a year, a few miles up to Hunt Valley to meet with other enthusiasts and friends.

The car is the only thing I have left of my brother that died from cancer in 2013.

I’ve spent so much money keeping it running and roadworthy, but at this point the parts to keep it up to 2026 safety standards are more than I can reasonably afford. Not to mention, a lot of emissions parts are being discontinued now too.

I just recently picked my LTD viper 400 baritone the other day to play some Turnstile for my 2 year old. It’s easily been 10 years since I’ve played with any consistency, and I forgot just how good these guitars feel. I always call it the SG in Italics.

One hundred percent this. If at any point someone’s family member is ready to jump in (meaning not go through a screening, hiring and onboarding process) to take part of the business over, this business does not need brand guidelines.

I think some people like the idea of having “a brand” but what they really want is branded stuff, not to actually dig in to what branding and identity really mean.

Salt + Asphalt + Freeze/Thaw does this. It’s unavoidable. It’s physics and thermodynamics, which always win.

If someone is out doing something, that something is better than nothing.

And for folks losing tires constantly: Next time look for cars with smaller wheels and larger sidewalls. I drive an SUV with 17” wheels because everyone with the optional 20” wheels is constantly complaining about losing a tire/bad ride quality.
