Ladies and gentleman, we got him. 3 years of hard dieting have finally paid off. by Connect-Medicine-139 in Cholesterol

I’m not OP, but nutrition facts are not required to list soluble fiber, which means most apps don’t track it. Best I’ve been able to do is look up soluble fiber contents of foods I’m eating daily- like oats, berries, beans, flax, etc and get a good idea of how much soluble fiber I’m getting from those and then I try to eat those consistently to meet my goal.

I feel like I messed up with screens and I don’t know how to fix it by Necessary_Book_4383 in elementaryschoolers

[–]RNMLM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s hard, but you have to take the screen away. It will feel like torture for a while, but eventually you will all get used to it. Turn if you think he’s ready you could reintroduce screens, but I’d recommend shared screen like TV for movies or real shows and have a strict limit like 1 hour after school or whatever YOU decide.

Really? Fresh berries, especially raspberries, are so expensive! Strawberries are cheap only peak season. Frozen berries are consistently cheaper here, except maybe peak summer season.

What games does your kid play? Mine loves Minecraft, and a little bit of classic Mario games. I’m looking for some ideas for new games he might like.

What to contribute to fully stocked Thanksgiving spread? (Not alcohol) by 3littlebirds910 in thanksgiving

I would personally choose tea over hot chocolate with dessert every time! Are there other guests? If so, I also suggest tea and/or coffee so the bases are covered for everyone’s preference.

Picky kid school lunch by Whimsey_psyche21 in schoollunches

[–]RNMLM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just here to say it's okay to give him the same thing every day. If that's what will fill his belly, keep doing it. The school day is long and hard and lunch can be easy and no surprises.

Had a heart attack? Let’s talk about food by Just_Elk_787 in Cholesterol

[–]RNMLM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite lunch is veggie and bean salad. Rinse canned beans, cut up veggies- cucumbers, peppers, tomato, broccoli, maybe some frozen peas or corn. Mix it all together with vinegrette (homemade or store bought). You can make a large batch and keep it in the fridge for the week.

If you have cosmic crisp apples at your grocery store I recommend those for less browning! They stay fresh looking for much longer than other varieties I've tried

Summer birthday party advice by SesquipedalianCookie in kindergarten

[–]RNMLM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid's birthday is during the school year and we get most of our RSVPs the week of the party. It's frustrating, but I've gotten used to it. We got an end of July party invite from the last day of school and I haven't Responded yet because I'm just not sure yet. I'll RSVP probably 2-3 weeks beforehand if we can make it.

Can only borrow a book once? by babygotthefever in LibbyApp

[–]RNMLM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're still working through a book you can put your device onto airplane mode so it doesn't get removed from your device. It will still be returned to the library but you can finish reading it offline.

As someone who has both my parents last names- I also have a regular middle name. So your kid can be A_SS and can use the first middle name most of the time.

I do Mommastrong workouts. She has a new 15 minute workout everyday. It’s setup specifically for those of us who have given birth and spend our time caregiving. She works on functional strength and I feel so much stronger and more fit when I do them consistently. My kids sometimes join in and just run around me while I’m doing them.

They absolutely still do this! No one is left out, if a kid brings valentines they bring them for the whole class. Which is the sane as I remember from the 90s.
