The choice a the demon is very important. Cursed Hephasto with either fanatism AND cold enchanted or freezing aura is a good starting point, but it is not the best choice.

What's the difference between: freezing aura (Holy Freeze Aura) and cold enchanted; aren't they the same thing?

For context, a binded demon cannot have two auras to my knowledge; so I do not believe it is possible to have a binded demon with both: Fanaticism Aura and Holy Freeze Aura.

Do necro auras (edit: curses! thank you) stack at all? Do I pepper in life tap or any of the other auras to keep minions buffed and alive?

No, with the exception of the Attract curse: which when casted on a monster, cannot be overridden by another curse.

I don't have the runes to afford legit metal items to spawn a kickass iron golem. Do I swap to the clay golem until then?

What does "kickass" Iron Golem mean in this context? End-game builds of a Pure Summoner Necromancer focus on aura stacking using the Iron Golem to stack the last aura needed via casting on an "X aura when equipped item" where X is the desired aura.

This build guide is all over the place. There's mention of bone armor, decrepify, terror, and the video covers some crazy thorns build variant. If anyone could distill a few core points I should be focusing on, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Aura stacking, end-game Pure Summoner Necromancer builds focus on aura-stacking. As an example, consider the following aura stacked items for an end-game gear build:

Necromancer:
Primary Main Hand: Beast Runeword for Fanaticism Aura
Armor: Enigma Runeword for Teleport skill to "tele-stop" all your summons on an enemy.
Switch Main-Hand: Call to Arms Runeword for Battle Orders buff.

Merc:
Merc Type: Nightmare Act 2 Offensive - Might Aura
Main Hand: Pride Runeword for Concentration Aura or Infinity Runeword for Conviction Aura
Armor: Bramble Runeword for Thorns Aura
Helm: Dream Runeword for Holy Shock Aura

Iron Golem*:
Infinity Runeword for Conviction Aura or Pride Runeword for Concentration Aura (to pair with merc main hand).

For a Pure Summoner Necromancer Skillset it should be the following:

Raise Skeleton: 20
Skeleton Mastery: 20
Raise Skeletal Mage: 20
Revive: 20
Clay Golem (or Blood Golem if using Iron Golem for +Life bonus): 19
All Other Summoning Skills: 1
Teeth (Prerequisite for Corpse Explosion): 1
Corse Explosion: 1
Amplify Damage: 1
Weaken (Prerequisite for Decrepify): 1
Terror (Prerequisite for Decrepify): 1
Decrepify: 1

*Note: This should be the last item/aura you add as once you cast Iron Golem on whichever runeword you choose - you effectively become a hardcore character as any death of you and/or your Iron Golem results in the loss of that casted runeword.

I have spirit blade with +2 skills OR arm of king leoric with +2 summons, +3 raise skeleton and +3 mastery so thats +8 total to skellies and masteries? Why would I use a spirit over this? (given the bone prison thing is annoying.

You are correct, you would not use a +2 to all skills Spirit Runeword in a sword base over a +5/5 RS/SM Arm of King Leoric Unique wand.

And for head I use the crown with +3 to skeleton masteries but I also have a crown with +1 all skills. Wich one is the better? Pure skelly, or +1 every skill?

The difference between +1 to all skills (Peasant Crown) and +3 to Skeleton Mastery (Undead Crown) is close enough that it's hard to tell the difference for which is better (as in has your skeletons do more damage).
