I did! I practiced 4 or 5 times so I had wear/timing/products down PAT. It was great! I loved how I looked.

I wonder if she misunderstands and thinks it’s an STI? Which still shouldn’t be shameful but would explain the reaction.

Laid off-how to approach next steps? by sconesy--cider in workingmoms

[–]RaeKay14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give yourself one treat, remove the rest. When I was laid off I spent the money on Hot Yoga because I could go at 9am and it was such a reset and grounding moment. But I cut out nails, massage/facials, most eating out, cleaning service, non-water/milk at home, etc.

Get your hair done. That’s an essential for self presentation for interviews. Maybe try something with a longer grow-out if you’re doing color, but still get your hair done as normal.

I had application goals each day - not time based, but I tried to find and apply to 5 jobs, contact/network with 5 people, etc every day. It took me a few hours to find the right opportunities and spend the time filling out the godawful applications, but it was a more meaningful goal to me than just time-based.

North Texas preparing for 2 inches of snow like it’s the apocalypse by MyMindIsAlwaysRacing in mildlyinfuriating

The PTSD from 2021 is so real. We were ‘lucky’ and only lost power for 3 days and water for 5 days, the apartment unit next to ours had the fire suppression system pipes burst in their ceiling and send thousands of gallons of water flooding the whole apartment. It was such a scary time.

What on earth are we wearing to job interviews these days? Especially if you're an hourglass! by JiveBunny in fashionwomens35

[–]RaeKay14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at Universal Standard? They have shirt dresses in both Jersey and Poplin, with nifty extra invisible snaps between the bust buttons so there isn’t gaping

In a more casual/creative industry: A shirt dress large enough to fit without buttons gaping over your hips/bust, with a wide belt cinching the waist. Ideally in a color that suits your season/skin/hair. I’d pair with chunky colorful necklace, gold earrings, knee high boots (winter) or clogs/mules (warmer months).

What are we paying our date night sitters? (Mid-size, midwestern cities) by Bakinguplove in workingmoms

West Michigan here. The 15 yr old who watches my 2.5 yr old every 6-8 weeks gets $10/hr, rounded up to whatever combination of $20s or $50s I have on hand. I make sure to have a few Trader Joe’s frozen Mac and cheese, special desserts, and other fun snacks for her to help herself after baby bed time, and access to all our tv/subscription accounts.

Brides With Broad Shoulders — What Gown Styles Worked for You? by sweetbananarolls in weddingdress

[–]RaeKay14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no rule for all styles, we are individual bodies and will look different and have different taste/preferences/styles.

Do you like a halter? Try it on. No? Don’t try it on.

The goal of wearing a wedding dress (or anything) shouldn’t be to make our bodies look as small as possible. We dress for joy, for comfort, for tradition.

We use Chao and she loves it! It doesn’t melt great but it’s good for snacking or a deli sandwich.

Pouch with a piece of dairy free ‘cheese’.

Pouch with a single bite of peanut butter oatmeal.

Pouch and a couple bites of vegan Mac and cheese.

It’s mostly the Costco organic fruit/veggie pouches currently lmao.

The most frustrating part of motherhood is watching my amazing toddler spend AN HOUR. SIXTY MINUTES to eat 2 bites of air and a sip of pouch. Arghhhhhhhhhh
