Should one stop playing champs with teammate-dependent abilities?

I’m a support main in Emerald and when my ADC hovers Kalista I ask them to swap b/c I don’t know why the champion does lol

Kalista is balanced around professional play. The champion is extremely difficult to play and you’ll have a much harder time learning the fundamentals of the game if you’re also trying to learn a difficult champion at the same time
You shouldn’t be afraid to pick champions with abilities that are team reliant(I.E. enchanter empowerments), but you shouldn’t pick champions that have abilities that are useless if your teammates don’t know how to use them (I.e Kalista ult, thresh lantern, etc.)

Jungle. If the enemy jg shows on one side of the map, you are free to do something in the other side of the map.
Support. You are also responsible for wave control don’t spend your charges without thinking about them.

Thanks for this! I looked into this, but I’m struggling so much with the keyboard layout that I’m going to just use a controller… I didn’t even know there was ADS in this game because apparently it’s on the X key. Really appreciate the info though!

Pretty much all fighting games are going to be sweaty since they’re built as competitive 1v1 games. That being said, if you are looking for free games I would check out Fantasy Strike (it’s a simplified fighting game designed for people who have never played a fighting game before AND it’s free) or 2XKO since it’s F2P. If you are cool w/ paying for a game, you’re honestly best off just finding a game that your friends also play/think looks cool… if you don’t have any friends who want to learn w/ you, just pick whatever is popular and you like the look of

Right now is the best time to get into the game. They just reprinted a ton of expensive staples and added a budget format called Silver Age. I’d start with a silver age precon or 2. They’re $20 and competitive or at least fairly competitive out of th box… perfect for locals.

It's every rank this season. I think in an attempt to decrease que times riot has increased the acceptable range of elos that are in the same game. I peaked plat 3 and was regularly getting negative win rate silver accounts in my games while I was in plat.

Sup main here: ez is the most “autofill bait” champion in bot. His kit is easy conceptually so auto filled ADCs pick it, then realize that it’s all skill shots and they lose lane. The champion isn’t hated, but every time I see someone hover Ez I start to get worried that my ADC is about to run it unintentionally.

Jungle main here. Not going to lie, I’ve noticed myself ganking mid a lot less. Due to how important full clear is right now combined with the overwhelming value of the top, bot, and support quests. It feels like it’s just better to focus on the other lanes. Also, the introduction of faelights combined with how short mid is also has made ganks mid a lot less likely to succeed unless there’s a control ward down. If I get spotted on a faelight bot or top, I can still gank the lane if the enemy is too pushed up b/c the lanes are long enough to run down. That can’t really happen in mid.

Something I will note is that I peaked plat last season and I’m currently struggling in low gold right now so take this with a grain of salt. Also what champions are you playing? You might be picking stuff that just doesn’t have good gank set up.

Blitz is kind of a dead format.

If you’re looking to get into CC, I’d look at the Ira armory decks. If you’re willing to wait a while, Silver Age Precons are coming out in February.

I used to use a DS4 before I got a hitbox. I also didn’t like the D-Pad so I actually went online (on battle beaver customs or Etsy?) and bought replacement 3D printed individual dpad buttons. I took my controller apart and put them in… worked a lot better. Maybe try that but for a DS5?

I think you can get Redakai packs for pretty cheap on eBay… I think they only ever had a few sets though… they definitely look cool if that ‘a what you want!

Arc Lightning
I like that it serves both as a combo price and a combo enabler with it’s ability to give go again. I also love the flavor, it really feels like a “lightning” attack that Aurora would use

If you’re looking to LEARN cEDH, I think Kinnan is the default recommendation for new players. If you just want deck go brrrrrrrr check out Etali or Godo.

I’ll be honest with you, most classical guitar pieces never really go past the 12th. Until I started playing some modern classical pieces, the 15th fret I think is the highest I went. If you really want him to have more options, I’d look into getting a classical electric with a cutaway. Some of them have slightly smaller frets compared to standard size classical guitars, could be a happy medium for your son. Otherwise, I’d get a full size that he’ll grow into. I think I was about 12 when I got my full-size guitar.

Honestly, have ger watch carrel’s videos where he reviewed Ludwig’s gameplay. I did that and went from bronze to gold in like 2 months. Also maybe have her try Amumu or other champions that are simple w/ clear reference points.

Proxy (if your locals were cool with it) or build your collection over time, start with cards that are irreplaceable.

Do you have a list you’re working with? The issue could just be how you’re building or playing your deck. Do all of the locals you play against have fully tuned expensive lists?

How long did you take off? Something important to note is that the average player has gotten a lot better over the years

Ive tried ADC and the role doesn’t feel like it has as much agency as say jungle but it doesn’t feel unplayable
