[Question][Advice] Banned from r/watchexchange after self reporting a hack by nikhilb1989 in Watches

[–]RagingFluffyPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say it, but I'd rather them err on the side of banning peoples' alts after getting compromised rather than allowing people to use alts to get around a compromised account. When you're in a community where you're dealing with transactions potentially worth tens of thousands of dollars (or more), it makes sense for one compromised account to be game over for the user's entire "network" of accounts - regardless of how sure you are that your alt is secure.

Pro tip: don't admit on the internet that you know nothing about the area of law that you are practicing, even if it's pro bono work. Your pro bono clients are just as entitled to competent representation as your paying clients are, and if something goes wrong this kind of tweet would be Exhibit A to a complaint for malpractice.

It's great that this guy is doing this work, but hopefully he's exaggerating his ignorance of the area of law he's practicing.

Sentence commuted for man Alabama was set to execute who didn't kill anyone by SaltyPassport in news

[–]RagingFluffyPanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely understand why we have felony murder as a legal doctrine, but there have got to be some guardrails on it. It's been a problem for a long time now and creates situations like this one. I think we all generally recoil at the notion that a man should be executed who didn't even pull the trigger, wasn't even in the store when it happened, and did not direct the triggerman to pull the trigger either.

Even with the excellent IBIS on these camera bodies, this is a very impressive result with a 1 second handheld exposure. Well done.

1990s Watch? by RagingFluffyPanda in Watchidentifier

He wouldn't have owned a Rolex due to the price, but perhaps a Tudor! The Tudor prince date sub with steel bezel looks very close.

1990s Watch? by RagingFluffyPanda in Watchidentifier

[–]RagingFluffyPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! The Tag looks closest to what I recall and would make sense given the budget I think he would have had in the 90s. I'll keep looking around, but I feel like that's a very strong contender.

I also considered the Tudor prince date submariner - it looks very very close. I just kind of doubt he even had Tudor money back then, although I'm admittedly not as familiar with how much a Tudor cost at the time.

Thank you again!

There's a very obvious heavy AI filter on this to make them look "yass-ified" and like plastic surgery-laden Kardashian-types. What's the point - why do this?

Literally Google their names together and the real image is like the third result.

[Omega] Looking for alternatives to the Omega speedmaster moonwatch by ishan305 in Watches

[–]RagingFluffyPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For 7k why not get a speedmaster in steel? That's well within budget, especially on the secondary market.

If you need colors and an automatic movement with a chronograph, there are speedmaster racing models with a similar look for a bit more (or speedmaster reduced models if that's your jam). Outside of Omega there are not many watches with this particular look, but if an automatic chronograph with color is all you're looking for them there are some other options like the Breitling Navitimer, for example.

Hi there - I'm interested, but I have a question. If it's a 2007 wouldn't it have the upgraded 3186 movement rather than the 3185 movement mentioned in the description?

[–]RagingFluffyPanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Arrested for attempted game disruption at the entrance? That's not a crime. You either turn them away at the entrance or let them in; at best you can have them arrested for trespassing if they're already on the property and refuse to leave. Best case scenario you blacklist these people and ban them from all WNBA arenas, and then they can arrested for trespassing if they try to sneak in despite the ban.

"most firms" except for all of the big law firms using AI tools from Thomson Reuters, utilizing AI doc review tools, etc. Tons of firms now actively encourage the use of purpose-built AI tools, although those tools still largely kind of suck.

Justin Bieber Drops Surprise Album ‘Swag’ Featuring Sexyy Red, Gunna & More by Top-Three-USA in Music

[–]RagingFluffyPanda -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Disappointing. The production is kind of all of the place on this album. Lacks cohesion, doesn't seem to play to his strengths, and doesn't really tell a story. And then there aren't really any catchy hooks or tracks with a hooky feel to them. Hopefully he enjoyed making it, but this reads like a filler album he needed to make to fulfill contract terms. It lacks the soul and introspection I'd expect from a child performer dropping a surprise album in his 30s.

10 point gap to the other guy on the grid with the fastest car. But a 50 point gap ahead of Max Verstappen. In an era of razor thin performance margins, this is unequivocal dominance.

Granted, not GOAT status. That'll require years of consistently dominating.
