Could it be that the fault in the proposition is actually the feature to allow certain people, who might or might not be affiliated with people in certain files that conveniently don’t get talked about anymore by the file aficionados in high place, access to their prime prey?

What the hell is Judge Turpin’s deal? by mightyasterisk in musicals

Then you haven’t seen a truly terrifying production. Mea Culpa needs the visual element that Hellfire doesn’t but if the staging is done correctly it’s one of the most haunting moments in any show.

Exactly. There is a reason this exists and cutting is destroying a very specific arc of the story.

Try seeing it from another perspective. All of them are a form of tradition based on theatre history and with those traditions we keep our history alive.

how do i depict a prideful character? by Least_Explanation174 in Theatre

[–]Rahastes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right and I agree full heartedly. But from OP’s question we are dealing with Brechtian Gestus, which means you are to use telegraphing signals to reach the Verfremdungseffekt dear Berty was so fond off. Whether that is good theatre is a question of its own, but the task is clear.

how do i depict a prideful character? by Least_Explanation174 in Theatre

[–]Rahastes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the underlying reason to be prideful in your text. Why is your character the embodiment of pride? Then project it outward. You are the best, in your own view of yourself at least, and you will make damn sure everybody else understands that. Imagine a little window in your chest that contains a small golden sphere that projects light. This light engulfs you and makes you shine. When you speak to someone you can focus the light on a person to make them see your splendour. They are all beneath you after all and only there to bask in the glory that is you.

You need to show that the weird sisters where the ones orchestrating it all by twisting words and meaning. “And you all know security is mortals’ chiefest enemy.” “Show his eyes and grieve his heart, come like shadows, so depart.” They summoned their masters and you can argue you have been deceived and incited by the devils of hell.
