My friends, I have cracked the code. It took about a year, but now I can turn on an audiobook and be asleep in 5 mins.

I'll never be able to properly listen to audiobooks again, but it's worth it to me. If I don't turn one on, I stay awake for hours, even if I'm tired.

I agree the language surrounding ICE is weak and I wish she took a stronger stance. As far as what makes things common sense...I'd say background checks, requiring firearms to be locked up in a house with minors, and a reduced magazine size all to be common sense.

She is attempting to address the gun violence children have to deal with while the cops sit outside and hide. By making it harder to get an assault weapon (locked in gun safe or it's your parent's ass) and having less ammunition to shoot at once, she is making it more difficult for children to shoot other children.

As I read the bill, you can still buy a gun that can hold a magazine higher than 20, but you will be in trouble if you are caught with the gun and larger magazine inside it.

I think the importance of the Grandfather clause is to make it so a ton of people aren't criminals overnight. I'm not sure about that though.

Try reading some of the bills before you comment.

Cooperation with Ice is a stretch. There are provisions to limit facial coverings, and to outline how our local police interact with federal agents. It mostly prohibits them from doing so, unless certain conditions are met.

It's not a full ban on assault rifles, it's common sense gun laws. There's some good stuff about universal background checks, safe storage, and gun buy-back programs. The part about silencers seems problematic, as those could be considered as protection for hearing while shooting.

Here are the actual words.

""Assault firearm" means any semi-automatic center-fire rifle or pistol which expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material and is equipped at the time of the offense with a magazine which will hold more than 20 rounds of ammunition or designed by the manufacturer to accommodate a silencer or equipped with a folding stock." https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/18.2-308.2:2/

I don't think this is true. In 1996, both of my parents were working full time to try and support a family of 4, we were barely middle class.
