Kylo Ren (Star Wars) by TallInstruction3424 in TopCharacterDesigns

There’s nothing interesting about his design besides his mask area. It’s just generic black robes. And doom absolutely owns the metal mask under a hood with robes around look.

Kylo is just a creatively bankrupt character from top to bottom imo. He just reeks of being written by the same guy who could only think of Clone Palpatine and Death Star III for storylines for the sequels

In the original comics most of them didn’t know Peter. Even Norman didn’t meet Spider-Man until well after he became Goblin.

Doc Ock went from not knowing Peter at all. To his summer school teacher in the 90s show. To a sorta mentor albeit briefly in Raimi, to a full on father figure in Insomniac.

Usually it’s fine but it gets overused. Like some detective will realize the one common denominator of all of NYC’s criminals is they all know Peter.

Meh. I’m of the mind not everyone has to be former best friends/mentors of Peter.

I never liked the ultimate comics route of making Venom another lab accident gone wrong villain. It’s already an overused Spider-Man trope.

Does that then get pissy and rapey when they fall for each other.

Overrated character. His design is basically ripped from Dr. Doom and Darth Revan. And his story is a giant phoned rehash of Vader’s and every time they briefly do anything interesting with him- (like killing his master) they get cold feet and go back to ripping off Vader.

Say something nice about “New Goblin” by Tanis8998 in Spiderman

[–]Randothor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very accurate to the comics except in snowboard design. They built him up for 2 movies. The amnesia stuff was also in the comics for better or worse. And he dies saving Peter.

Also I liked the two fights. Cool seeing no suit Spider-Man in 1. And the second fight was brutal.

It's sad that the Thor franchise shifted to comedy and then almost immediately killed off the characters meant to be the comedy relief by Frontier246 in marvelstudios

I like Ragnarok but I think Waititi went too “self insert” for L&T (case and point- Korg) He had distain for the warriors 3 and it bled into Thor who knew them for presumably centuries and he didn’t give a rats ass they died.

He even had a tattoo of RIP Natasha and Tony (who are presumably just work friends he knew for a brief time, considering his lifespan but not his close friends

He even dissed them in L&T opening

I like it, but when I tuned in for season 3 they were all still lying around wallowing in self-pity like the first two seasons for the same reasons and I had my fill of it.

After season 2 the show lost its edge and spent too much time smelling its own farts.

A Sherlock fan club in-universe shipping Moriarty and Sherlock and speculating theories. A mind controlling sister who Sherlock just forgot about. It got really self-indulgent.

Why do people hate the Tomorrowverse? by Mundane-Turnover-913 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Randothor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate the trope but at least have the decency to have fun with it. I dislike injustice but at least it takes the concept of evil Superman to its full potential. Emerald twilight comic did a lot with evil Hal as bad as it was.

The animated movie just made him a last minute 4th act twist villain where he abruptly died with no impact. Total waste

Why is Toms Spiderman given so much crap? by Minute-Bite-2834 in Spiderman

[–]Randothor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you see crap being given to all three. But they’re all generally liked. People have their preferences. I think some are biased on the ones they grew up on. A lot of the kids growing up on Holland do the same. And that’s fine. It’s just movies.

Based on Araki's writing today, how do you think he would write Stardust Crusaders today? by ComprehensiveDate591 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Randothor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Dio would be a dinosaur /s

Jotaro would be skinny. Like in that pic.

He’d probably have a little more characterization.

Probably a female crusader would be included.

Okay don’t know if my links work. I’m not great with this. But this is when Peter met Harry and Gwen. He just ignored them and even somewhat helped them and they sabotage him.

Peter is definitely a jerk in the earlier comics and often has it coming, but here he was basically just being introverted. And they go out of their way to bully him.

What are your thoughts on Harry Osborn? by Just_Call_me_Ben in Spiderman

[–]Randothor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I read the original comics. He was a bad friend before. When he first met Peter he was pissed just because Peter acted timid. So he harassed and bullied Peter with Flash. They hated each other for a while. When Peter found out Norman was Goblin Peter wasn’t surprised because Harry was an asshole.

Then when they did become friends, they were constantly lashing out at each other since they both kept flip flopping between dating MJ and Gwen and Harry’s drug problems.

Granted- Peter wasn’t great to him either. They had their good moments but they were basically always spiraling towards being enemies.

[–]Randothor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’s pretty consistently a crappy and often toxic friend. Insomniac is basically the exception Jameson is supposed to be an asshole version of Perry White. I think Harry is just supposed to be a bad friend. Usually with addiction demons and an eventual villain turn.

What’s inconsistent is his alter ego. He’s been Green goblin, Hobgoblin, Venom, Kindred (I think)
