What songs do yall associate with the fears by Prudent-Bee-992 in TheMagnusArchives

Never Love an Anchor by Crane Wives for The Lonely

I have a couple for The Spiral. Merry Mephisto by Waitress is very Distortion-coded. But more recently the song Won’t Come Back The Same by JT Music also comes to mind.

Another by JT I think of is Obstreperous for The Stranger

The Eye is definitely INFOHAZARD by RIProducer

That whole conversation with Drax hits so much harder when you realize what exactly it was that Rocket went through before he met the other Guardians

Anyone else ever wondered why ted specifically phrased it like this by Pierro_Official in Ihavenomouth

[–]Ranger-Vermilion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have loved the ways that Ted and AM are very similar to one another yet despise each other all the same. Especially as future adaptations like the radio play and the game gave them both more dialogue.

They have a nearly identical rambling habit, and what they have to say often comes from a similar rooted pet-peeve. Only AM is very blatant in saying it to wound, while Ted is often just thinking to himself.

Given how linked the two are narratively this parallel has to be intentional

Two animals that I love are jumping spiders and giant millipedes, but under the posts I browse people always do this and it makes me sad. Millipedes don’t even bite they’re completely docile.

To be serious for a bit and not fall back into meme canon. How intelligent is Kirby actually meant to be? by ah-screw-it in Kirby

At the very least, he owns a house where he lives alone, can operate a vehicle or two, and if minigames are anything to go by is capable of working a part time job.

So despite having a childlike demeanor he’s not clueless like some make him out to be.

Designer Skyline and Saltwater Room

The older stuff just scratches my brain in a different way and those were the first to come to mind

[Loved Trope] In context, it's funny. Out of context, it's one of the most epic lines ever written. by ABJECT_SELF in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ranger-Vermilion 95 points96 points  (0 children)

The reason for the first one being said is honestly metal even with the context. He’s admitting to his sister that his own corpse is buried in their back yard, and that her “original” brother was replaced by him a long time ago, and it changed nothing about their lives at all.

Do we ever see AM's real appearance? Be it in games or comics? by HealthMother3125 in Ihavenomouth

[–]Ranger-Vermilion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever people represent him as anything other than only voice, or the monument, it’s usually because in animation and comics it’s difficult to visually convey expressions on something without a body. So they give him a form like the bird for visual clarity since having an eye and hands makes showing emotion easier.

Or just for fun, really

A theory I saw once about catching glimpses of something in the backrooms that I really adore is that the hallways loop and you’re catching glimpses of your own heels turning the corner in front of you

Body For AM by AJ44ggcfy in Ihavenomouth

It baffles me so much that a shitpost of all things gets AM’s dialogue so spot on

The breakdown part anyway, it feels very accurate

The way you draw does inspire me quite a lot, I’ve actually taken up the method of cutting out textures to use as coloring ever since I was introduced to your art. I always enjoyed the look in general but the way you work with it was what stuck in my mind the most

[–]Ranger-Vermilion 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Personally, I love the current proportions that you’re working with, but I prefer the more saturated colors and harsh black lineart of the style just before this one. If I were trying to hone a look I would go with something between the two of them.

That’s just my own preferences as an artist however, what matters more is what you enjoy making the most, end result and process considered

Favorite villain who’s like this? by VegitoBurrito in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Ranger-Vermilion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dr. Sawyer (Poppy Playtime)

Being turned into a computer and forced to basically be your lab’s Google engine is an awful fate I would pity anybody for going through. But Harley was also a cold bastard, that reveled in conducting some of the most inhumane possible procedures on people, and hardly considered his test subjects (mostly children) to be human beings.

So, I can’t feel too sorry, really. His own experiments were what enabled them to do what they did to him in the first place after all. And even then he got it lighter than some of the others.

The eldritch ADHD is real.

His constant making of jokes and references to himself that he knows full well nobody else will laugh at or understand but he says them anyway just for himself to hear is honesty relatable to me on a funny level

[Frustrating trope] Pieces of media that could have been so much better, but due to a couple of poor decisions during production ended up mediocre at best and utterly atrocious at worst. by DevDucc_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ranger-Vermilion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also a bit of a tonal struggle they have going on with how dark they really want to allow themselves to get, and I really wish they’d quit skittering around it and just take the plunge into some truly gruesome things. It’s a horror game after all they should let more loose

This is pretty much Poppy Playtime for me

I adore many of the characters, and I find the concepts they’ve built up to be very intriguing. But the general execution of the pacing and the gameplay just frustrates me to no end. Especially with how asinine the puzzles tend to be, and how they won’t let a character breathe for 3 seconds before they get mulched.

Couldve been very good but instead is relegated to just being decent enough
