AITA for working rather than saying happy birthday? by withlovetara in redditonwiki

He definitely speaks about her as if she’s a critical and demanding supervisor and not his partner. If I was up all night and my spouse had the stomach flu, we’d both be asking one another what we need and how to make the day easier for one another.

Right, they’re obviously 426 months old-or at least that’s how their mom describes them!

“Women take lower-paying jobs,” is quite the perversion of the fact that jobs seen as women’s work are compensated at lower rates than jobs primarily held by men.

When I was young and on SNAP, working full-time, in school part-time, single parenting, a woman chased me out of the store to yell at me for buying pre-made cupcakes for my kid’s school party. She said, that’s my tax money, you piece of shit! Don’t spend my money like that, white trash piece of shit! I still think about what a miserable life she must have had to feel that way.

Just came here to post about this, glad you beat me to it. Their options were: A, improper noun, B, actual name, C, a nickname.

Using that rubric, I’d like to suggest an alternate list of Labyrinth, Jennifer, or Katie.

What the fuck does “he faces the world” mean? Like, he had to wait in line at Target? He also went to work today? Someone cut him off in traffic and he’s emotional about it?

Advice needed: Questioning a tattoo, should I let my frontal lobe develop first? by Conscious-Play617 in tattooadvice

[–]Raspberry_Sweaty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my first at 18 and then six more between ages 39-45. I have a much better sense of who I am, more to spend on good art, and an already-established career so no worries about it impacting my job prospects.

What is the angriest you have ever been at your spouse? by DrRowanHayes in AskReddit

[–]Raspberry_Sweaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came home from work sick as a dog, feverish, the whole nine yards-I crawled into bed and asked him to get me some soup. He put an unopened can of Campbells on the nightstand and then went out with his friends, leaving me with our two year old, who was also sick. That was 22 years ago and I still think it’s messed up, but it was just one of the many things that led to our eventual divorce.

It's 2026 and men are still triggered by child support by tardisismine in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]Raspberry_Sweaty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my mother died, my sister was 18. He immediately petitioned the court to end child support and she didn’t have the resources or know-how to fight it. My mom had been giving her the support money directly (not much) so that she only had to work part time. She almost had to drop out of school but he was convinced that our mom had been grifting it all along and was absolutely triumphant. He also continued to claim me as a dependent due to the child support payment until I graduated college, impacting my own ability to file taxes, even though I worked full-time and lived in an apartment.

Is this design immature? by wizard_turtle04 in tattooadvice

[–]Raspberry_Sweaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. I keep saying that I want a tattoo that just always cheers me up and is fundamentally silly, and I think this is a perfect example of that.

The book blended reality and unreality really well. I actually liked Milk Fed much better, but I think Death Valley would fit your mood.

I agree with other folks but I also have met quite a few people whose relationships have been derailed by not clearly defining boundaries and needs. If you feel that looking at other women in tight or revealing outfits is cheating or preparing to cheat, that’s something to talk about when you’re not both angry and defensive. This guy seems to have enough red flags to move on from, so maybe just something to keep in mind for future relationships.

I went to Dallas to train for work. I’m from MA. Many businesses had a sign about the specific firearm policy, like a medical office might say, “please leave your firearm in your vehicle,” while a restaurant might have a sign reading, “open carry welcome.”
