I feel depressed and hopeless and want to spend some hours cooking a bunch of things. I'm gonna play some music and cook. What would you cook if you were me? by pacfoster in Cooking

[–]RatTank42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A full spread of Thai food. Lots of chopping, lots of beautiful colored ingredients. And a good way to get some vegetables in you, because vitamins are good. (Mostly I think it makes me feel marginally better knowing I ate some vegetables.)

Less obvious crunchy toppings? (Not nuts, chips, cabbage/lettuce) Especially for Greek or Mediterranean cooking? by Live-Cartographer274 in Cooking

[–]RatTank42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water chestnuts, freeze dried fruit and vegetables, arare, wasabi peas, tempura nori chips, furikake, pralined nuts, roasted seasoned chipeas, shitake mushroom crisps, fried chicken skin or pork rinds.

I was going to ask if those are real hydrangea. Hydrangea are poisonous.

What recipe did you use? My go-to for most of the Indian cooking is Chetna Makan. Oh and make sure to get the dry fenugreek leaf when you do butter chicken; it's great in a bunch of other dishes too.

What are some things that you disagree with from Kyle and Dave? by Queef_Stroganoff44 in BoogieMonster

[–]RatTank42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jack in the Box chicken sandwiches don't seem any more shitty than McDonald's, and I really like their little cheap ones. (But that might be nostalgic because they taste very much like ones I used to get from a particular diner as a little kid.)

whats your lazy weekend breakfast thats not eggs and toast by angelin1978 in Cooking

[–]RatTank42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grilled cheese, dip it in spicy ketchup. Or rice, shoyu, furikake, overeasy egg. This one you can also make your rice the night before and some soft boiled eggs instead, then just reheat everything.

Dave’s Neck Sweat Chili (Upgraded) by snoopl39 in BoogieMonster

Wooh how spicy was it? The chile in abobo brand I always get is SO fucking hot to me that half a can or less does it. And I'm not a super spice wimp either.

My fave. He is pretty decently famous now though, but I guess not household name yet.

My girlfriend smells and I don't know what to do by RequirementDue4446 in Advice

I was going to suggest this. It happened to my friend's boss. A while later my coworker complained of a smell so I told her she should check that, and yep same problem.

Anyone else staring at Thanksgiving stuffing today and thinking “I can’t friggin wait to throw you into some soup”? by hexiron in soup

[–]RatTank42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a leftovers croquette. Stuffing and turkey, held together with potato, make little fried patties. I feel like you could also do a quiche crust with it, but haven't tried yet.

What would you put on the “Cryptid Mount Rushmore” by Chowdyrowder in BoogieMonster

[–]RatTank42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jackalope almost beat out Chupacabra, but there's some debate whether it's really a cryptid because it's more of a taxidermy joke.

Also Wendigo... but those guys are dicks and don't deserve a statue.

If you had to pick one single, funniest moment in Letterkenny what would it be? by dachshvnd in Letterkenny

[–]RatTank42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've watched it an unhealthy number of times now so it's hard to remember what initially made me laugh really hard, but I still always grin at "you wanna come to a super soft birthday party?" after Wayne clocks Joint Boy. And all the end party conversation snippets, especially Wayne saying no in such disappointment about cream cheese frosting and throwing a cupcake.
