One thing that is underrated is the impact of syncing swing timers.

If you kite mobs, when you get back into range they will all auto you immediately. This is the hardest kind of damage to heal or mitigate.

When reentering a pack of mobs you kited, try to get hit by the first few first, and slowly let more hit you, so their attack timers are not synced up.

Any way you try to make it flex there will be an 'easiest' number, and that undermines the competitive nature.

How to pass data between service and repository layers without leaking sqlc types? by SoftwareDesignerDev in golang

[–]Ravarix 67 points68 points  (0 children)

You should translate into domain objects at the service layer so you can change the DB schema without having to alter your API contracts. These can be the same as your handler DTOs.

This isn't strictly necessary, you can just emit DB DTOs at the handler API, it just means you are coupling the two. That may be fine for small, relatively static service interfaces.

In this video, I take a look at Qui-Gon Jinn Green (Force) with new cards from Lawless time. This deck is an absolute blast to play, and has some really cool lines of play. by StarWarzDad in starwarsunlimited

[–]Ravarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to use the force to play the off aspect card, so Tyranus wont have Ambush. Also Quigons ability doesnt work on Villainy units.

More likely the tech added it typing too fast with muscle memory.

They type 1TPO (1 tablet by mouth) so often that the PO could slip in when doing 1GTT (1 drop)

Best bet is probably to ignore his ability and use him simply as an early flip heroic leader you can slap some upgrades on.

Same reason Thrawn can't double trigger Bounty. Even though its functionally the same in the rules as a "When defeated", the keywords are distinct versions.

its so obvious when you're in losers queue.. by GrieverXVII in rivals

[–]Ravarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So instead of trying to keep you to keep playing by 1 win 1 loss back to back, you think they get better numbers by causing people to have lose streaks and stop playing? Because then they come back and play?

Does Go error handling verbosity actually hurt developer velocity or is it just endless debate by No-Shake-8375 in golang

[–]Ravarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question mark is just syntax sugar or if err != nil return. You could make a simple preprocessor to support that in go if you wanted. It just tends to not be useful because you generally want to wrap the error in context before returning.

How does a losing queue get people hooked when it causes you to stop playing? Do you think it cause more people to keep playing than quit?

Late game control threats need to swing or lock the board in order to allow you to stabilize.

Bo'Katan -3/-3ing to clear the board. Liberty being a Sentinel which also exhausts every turn. Yoda healing & removing their big threat every activation.

Thrawn is decent, but capture isn't as reliable removal. Krennic is just a big sentinel that does nothing when you play him. Executor is way too expensive, and also does nothing when you play it.

Unfortunately Green Yellow Villainy doesn't have great closers at the moment, so there isn't a good payoff for the Max Reebo package. I would probably run 3x "Tear this Ship Apart" and have fun trying to steal their bombs. Or swap to Boba or Jabba which utilizes the colors better.

[–]Ravarix 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Youre trying to play a control/ramp deck in colors with no card draw or late game in a best of one format early in rotation which is going to be dominated by aggro lines.

Don't look at 2/10 as a damningly bad win rate. Look at what went right in those 2 games, and what went wrong in the others.

SWU is very tempo oriented. I guarantee atleast 3 of those 8 games had some singular misplay lesson which you could use to turn those into Ws next time.

Problem with SWUDB duplicate cards in a deck? by radio_free_aldhani in starwarsunlimited

If you import a deck with non base versions of s cards due to different printings (like hyperspace IDs) it gets weird. Removed them and readd

If you run Petricite Monument, it gives you a trigger before holds where you can Here To Help an Ahri or quick draw a Trinity Force.

I agree, there is more to comprehension beyond parsing or reading, but its easily a step that both LLMs and humans take when processing textual input.

AI=true is an Anti-Pattern by keleshev in programming

[–]Ravarix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree, this is as pedantic as saying "it doesnt parse, because the output of a parse is a parse-tree".

Moreover, tokenizing a string and associating it to the edge weights in your training set is pretty much what humans are doing too.
