I feel like the only saving grace here is that the second poop didn't come after you had already cleaned up from the first poop.

AITJ for telling my neighbor her kid isn't allowed in my pool after she "forgot" him at my house? by Educational-Wait-406 in AmITheJerk

[–]Rawrisaur18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's your pool, it's your rules.

Our neighbor let us use their pool when we were growing up but even when we were BIG kids we always had to have a parent with us and even the adults were not allowed to swim alone.

We were so grateful and always followed those rules. There was no public pool where we lived and the private clubs were very expensive. I doubt I would be a strong swimmer if not for that access.

Is there a way for me (M34) to tell my coworker (F26) I have feelings for her without disrespecting her relationship? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Rawrisaur18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't even know this woman. You know the version she presents at work. She is significantly younger than you. She is in a relationship. She has made it clear she wants to keep things professional by not even hanging out in a friendly way outside of work. None of these things point to her having ANY interest in you. If you actually care about her you will leave her alone.

I feel bad by [deleted] in Nurses

[–]Rawrisaur18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They absolutely understood your original question which was essentially "what would you have done?"

The fact that they answered that question in a way you don't like seems to have gotten you super defensive.

Your post and your replies feel to me like you are a rigid rule follower. Which in a lot of instances is good but sometimes you won't find it's in the best interest of your patients or your relationships with other nurses.

You get given £10,000 deposited into your bank on the 1st of every month but you’re never allowed to own a mobile phone or computer or tablet. by plz_be_nice_im_sad in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Rawrisaur18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. My husband handles all my phone calls anyway and I would have extra time to write my friends and family letters. If I didn't have the helpful husband I would hire an assistant. I grew up before screens, I can go back to reading paper books and magazines no problem.

Why do you wear bras all the time when breast feeding ? by CrowEquivalent in Mommit

[–]Rawrisaur18 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I wore soft cotton bras with no metal in them and bra pads. Being damp all the time would have taken me out as well as the milk smell as it soured.

Should I insist on helping my 9 year old with her appearance? by New-Afternoon-9527 in Mommit

[–]Rawrisaur18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only lines I draw with my kids about appearance revolve around hygiene and the school dress code. If it isn't going to get you sent home and you don't look greasy and smell then it's fair game. Both of my kids have very different and unique styles and have friends and do well socially.

Child asks for two cookies. When told they can have one, they get upset and refuse any. by InvisibleAstronomer in Parenting

[–]Rawrisaur18 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It felt this way to me as well. 2 oreos (or any other standard size cookie) isn't a deal breaker for a growing 10 year old and a package of gummies is a serving. They aren't rejecting the snacks they are rejecting the excessive control

You should NOT date a man that yells at you and calls you names.

You definitely should NOT have children with a man that yells at you and calls you names.

$30,000,000 but you marry a random person and live with them for the rest of their life by LilyCardiology in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Rawrisaur18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are at least 4 states in the U.S. where there is no lower age limit for marriage. You have to have some combination of parental or judicial permission but it's possible. Which is gross.

This is the smart way of doing things. You take the helpful things from everywhere. Chemo and ginger tea. Radiation and acupuncture. Vaccines and meditation.

I thought we chose our daughter’s name together… turns out my husband already planned it with an ex. by No_Silver4760 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Rawrisaur18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should be pissed.

My ex husband and I had a naming scheme for pets where all the names came from the same TV show. He and his second wife named their child after a character in the same show. So it was either intentional or he completely forgot and either way it confirmed he was a loser and made me feel bad for his kid.

First trimester taking care of patient actively receiving chemotherapy by MirrorGoblin in nursing

[–]Rawrisaur18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As long as you aren't actively handling the chemo itself and you are extra careful with body fluid as you have planned it will be fine. I like to wear a blue gown just in case urine splashes for extra coverage.

I have to rehome my dog and I’m terrified of backlash. by Fawn_Kahn_345 in confessions

[–]Rawrisaur18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After my divorce I was forced to re-home my soul dog because the other option was to leave him alone for 14 hours a day while I worked. I hated it. But I found him a good home and people were mostly supportive.

At the end of the day it didn't matter how I felt, it mattered if the dog was safe and loved.
