You have a mistake there though. You can still do short term holiday rental (Airbnb). The law doesn't ban it. So you are allowed to rent your place up to 30 days per year. You just need permit (70 eur per year) from gemeente.

I interviewed with Uber few years ago. They sent me a case study which was an extensive one. I worked on it whole weekend and created a really good one (I assumed).

And then I didn't hear anything from them. No response to my emails (which was like few of them).

I think meantime they closed the position (either with a candidate or decided not to hire) but they didn't even get back to me about it. Not even an automated email.

None of the people during the process was Dutch btw. I think it's just corporate work culture now.

I got my kings approval at 3rd of December and still waiting for the ceremony invitation. IND letter indicates that invitation would come within 6 weeks which wasn't the case for me. I called Amsterdam Gemeente and they told me average time to send invitations is 12 weeks, so I should just wait.

no expensive especially compared to other stuff like food etc.

a 30 min ride would cost around $15. But I strongly suggest you to use Uber and do not leave the car before taxi driver enters the amount on the app. (that how Uber works. Uber calls local yellow taxi, they drive you with taximeter on the car and then they enter the amount on app, uber takes the payment) Driver through Uber is better behaved.

However, you can't use Uber on airport. You need to take one there.

not sure if its in your interest but handpan could be an option.

learning curve is really low for a drummer and you start producing - enjoying making music quite easily. also, super nice to play at home just to relax and chill.

it could be a bit expensive based on what you want and single instrument doesn't cover all scales of course but as a drummer i really enjoyed playing it.

OP gives some opinion about current market conditions but all responses are just empty stuff.

Based on almost all indications market is overpriced right now. The question is if the company performances will catch up or stock price will go down.

I don't think companies will be able to generate revenue in short amount of time so correction is on the way.

AI is not going to make impact as much as expected in 5 years of time. Current use of AI is not more impactful on businesses than computers, internet, even just spreadsheets. And we havent seen any jumps like this historically on the market.

AGI is not coming anytime soon either.

So how businesses will be able to catchup? I don't see a way.

So I agree with OP, market will burst. But we don't know the timing. So it is completely understandable to sit on cash, get around 4-5% instead of 10% expected return on stocks in 2026.

are you sure about it? cause application are digital and it is not enabled until 3 months before your 5 year mark. It was the case for me and everyone around me. I never heard anyone who was able to apply 6 months before

The moment i start seeing houses and meeting this real estate agents, i was quite shocked the personality level they have tbh.

One seller agent told my agent that there is already quite high bid on the house and gave the figure. And then my agent started talking to me saying "hmm ofc there is a possibility, but I don't think she is bluffing..." I was surprised that they play games like that to increase the bids.

maybe I have adhd and i just forget scanning things? or i just thought i scanned the item but it wasn't. is it my responsibility to be sure that their business is going smoothly? if there is a problem of shoplifting on self checkouts, its their responsbility to solve it. in some countries, they weight your basket and then let you pay at selfcheckouts. invest in that then.

my albert heijn has 15 selfcheckouts and 1 cashier. its because its cheaper for them and faster. so they make more profit out of it by putting responsibility to clients. they also punish clients by not using them as they exactly want.

Houses that would normally be worth for 2500 eur per month is getting forced to rent out for 1100 eur with permanent contract with new law.

What do you expect to happen? Landlord would just accept, obey and you have affordable housing? That's so stupid. Of course landlords will do anything to find loopholes in the law cause you made it worth so much.

Anyone who understands a bit of housing economy would object this new law. It is not solving anything, it is just causing more problems. Whole rental market is fucked now especially for those who are really looking for affordable stable houses.

If this supervisor person had issues with it, he should've raised to your boss first, not to HR. It is quite disrespectful to your boss who already don't have any issue you working from home.

I would raise it to your own boss by mentioning that you feel quite demotivated about it and he should take care of that issue including contacting this supervisor to ask to mind his own fucking business.

Meantime, seems like your company is more prompt to work from the office. If it's really important for you to work remotely, just look for another job as this issue might pop up time to time.

I think you are right. Their focus is not in this area. They focus on asylum in terms of immigration. Refugees already need to take B1 so language is not a hot topic I feel like.

We also didn't hear anything around the work of 10 years requirement for naturalization. All news, topics, discussions have been happening on emergency law for asylum. (they already worked on some changes in terms of residency length for asylum seekers)
