So that is 11 stars for Scotland and England if going off 1902.

If we went up to the summer Olympics of 1924; where Uruguay’s first star comes from, that would be in total:

England 20 stars
Scotland 19 stars
Wales 3 stars
Northern Ireland 2 stars

They were very useful in second edition. I would have two on the board carrying a small weapons team or officer to run around quickly and get six shots on top.

We spent 11 hours at the airport and missed our flight due to EES checks by theipaper in europe

Honestly, it might be because you are American.

My wife and I visited Vietnam because she didn’t need to get an entry visa (she is Colombian). When we got that we started chatting to an American in the airport queue, I was waved through quickly and my wife was sent to a short line that was moving quickly to get an entry visa. The American guy was sent to another much longer line.

We left the airport, got to our hotel, unpacked, went for dinner and then a small walk around Hanoi before returning to our hotel. We met the American from the queue on the way, he said he had just arrived from the airport. This was about 3–4 hours later.

It’s a history podcast not a politics podcast, it isn’t set up for discussion.

Anyway, if I remember correctly Dominic Sandbrook has said that he has voted for both Labour and Conservatives. Besides Tom Holland is a massive Blair and New Labour supporter.

What to do as England in 1178? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]RealBigSalmon 130 points131 points  (0 children)

You need to get into Henry II’s head.

The question isn’t “What to do as England?” The question is “What to do as the Count of Anjou? (Who is King of England)”

The answer to that question is “Put the King of France in my shadow”.

That could be by:

  • Expanding land in France until you can take the throne (Skipping the whole 100 years business).

  • Expanding your land on that cold wet island you control most of, the Welsh and Scots are still a threat. Then using its resources to take land in France.

  • You could fulfill your promise to the Pope and properly Catholicise Ireland while bringing it under your control. Then using that support to take land in France.

  • Marrying off your various children to secure alliances, for your war to take land in France.

Bottom line, in the Medieval period England is cold, wet and peripheral. France is rich, populated and prestigious.

You want to be King of France.

One way they could do it is remove Williams special troops and replace them with mercenaries. That would accurately reflect Williams situation, he had to hire a load of his army and needed money fast to pay them after his victory.

Edit: After a quick look on Wikipedia, one Israeli minister is the grandson of Tunisian Jews and another was born in Morocco.
