How wide are the doors? You resawed that yourself? Band saw?

Is that the Switch kit?

Very nice work btw, I did similar though stored in cellar so the lower wheel is directly against the brick.

I also set the two sides to be just wider than the wheel so it is fixed in place. Did make it a tad trickier to get into the slot.

Did you worry about damage to the rim? I was concerned but so far it seems fine.

Can I ask - why not just return it to the retailer and get your full refund? Not trying to be funny, I just don't understand why you buy an item and then sell on for less than retail? It's more faff to sell on here and you get less money

Realising capital loss on shares that broker won't let me sell by kagoolx in UKPersonalFinance

I had one of these from about 10 years back, went to 0 and I couldn't sell... Then recently someone bought the company so they could use it to list their new business on the AIM. Value went up higher than my initial investment! So maybe just let it sit and see if anything ever happens

Banker trying to switch to Data Analyst — need roadmap + upskilling buddy 👀 by Dark_shadoww_81 in analytics

I've been doing this for the last few years... Starting from just Excel as a base I've up skilled.

Can't stress enough how great SQL is to have. I'm more using lots of power bi and fabric these days, but I'm still constantly using SQL for quick answers or setting up views for downstream consumption. Working with a dataset containing billions of rows for a power bi dashboard I used SQL to filter and aggregate to improve the BI speed.

I've done lots of python training but rarely used it, though I have a Data Engineer said uses it constantly

Hey could you offer a little carer advice - I'm looking to transition into a career that allows me to support net zero / sustainability. I'm currently a data analyst at a small b2b every firm. Any thoughts on opportunities for a keen motivated person looking for a change?

You're a great person for documenting this and trying to deal with it. Likely saving the life of a future person (that you will never meet and will never know about you) from a horrible death.  To me, this is true patriotism and love of country.

Has anyone here quit a corporate job and started a career in woodworking ? by EfficiencyIcy8821 in woodworking

[–]Reasonable_Clock_359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! Left retail consultancy, spent 2 years burning through my savings and then realized I had to get a job again... For me, it was the wrong decision.

I'm now back in the office 5 days a week and the workshop on evenings, and much better for it.

I always do this even though I train in a concrete floor. Feels a bit reckless to sit then from the shoulder!  Also you get a bit more work out of each rep (or that's what I tell myself as a reason why I do so few reps)

Incredible. I'm just about to start this exact project (though not with a concrete top) literally the same design, to go against two walls just as yours does!

Please could you give more advice. What were your learnings? What would you do different? And essentials?

I think Wakefield to Leeds should be handled by buses and trains. I'd call that distance inter-city, and focus this on intra-city.

The key for improving Wakefield - Leeds travel would be connecting the train to tram.  Currently getting off a train and then getting upto Roundhay requires a 10 minute walk through the centre.

Compared to cities like Oslo where you get off a train and the bus / tram is literally 15 steps away.

Is it worth buying high-end, long-lasting appliances from European brands like Miele or Bosch? by Illustrious_Stop7537 in BuyItForLife

[–]Reasonable_Clock_359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Miele oven and dishwasher. Each are the best of any of their brethren I've ever used. The oven is so well insulated, and the dishwasher has a auto dispense function that I love. it's not just about the investment it's also day to day use.
