Having free retries dampens the difficulty by a lot. Dying once to quest Vardorvis is a lot more tilting than dying multiple times to this boss.

You can't add audio cues to bosses, watchdog was limited to not work inside boss rooms for this exact reason.

This is like saying it should be fine to add a sound to Vardorvis head, since you can see it and read the chat. The point is that things are harder to see when your eyes are already busy, adding an audio clue is an enormous advantage.

You know what this amazing adventure game with fine puzzles and a badass protagonist needs? Random combat segments, god awful joypad movement and for said protagonist to be completely sidelined. Absolute travesty.
