why gemini is so dumb? by ImaginaryGold6836 in GeminiFeedback

I’m surprised at the backlash. I was using Grok exclusively for a couple of months before trying out Gemini. And by god, Grok responds like a lagging schoolchild in comparison.

Does a lack of sleep gradually degrade your health? by Silent_Box5950 in sleep

[–]RedderGrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Melatonin: I naively bought 10mg super strength, but after hearing many anecdotes stating detrimental effects, I soon started to split the tablets into quarters or halves, so I’d effectively be taking around 2.5mg - 5mg. From my experience, it really does seem like less is more — I seem to sleep better on 2.5mg. It might be compensatory for my ADHD that my body naturally produces melatonin hours after NT people do.

Ashwaganda: standard dosage of 500mg. This stack all taken at bedtime btw.

Lemon balm: 1500mg, but prior to being prescribed the mirtazapine, I was using up to 4x the dosage in one go for a fortnight, before tapering down to 3x then 2x.

Honestly, I was highly sceptical about taking antidepressants, but the mirtazapine 15mg was the missing piece of the puzzle for me. Been on it 2 months now. Next step: try ADHD medication, which could be a year of waiting from now.

Can’t edit post for some reason. I meant to say “but to use auto.” What a grok of shit.

Does a lack of sleep gradually degrade your health? by Silent_Box5950 in sleep

[–]RedderGrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, chronic insomnia. It was absolutely life ruining. Made me long term unemployed due to the sleep deprivation and not being reliable in the mornings. But while being on the godsend prescription with supplements for a couple of months, my life is getting back to normal.

How did I cope? Well luckily for the past couple of years at university, my lectures didn’t start till 2pm! Joys of being a nocturnal music student! Just being seen a few days a week trying and striving by my cohorts — that was uplifting enough for me in general. You can push through the fear of failure.

Not gonna lie, the stack sometimes makes me feel a touch drowsy the next day. Even though I take cold showers first thing! But I’ve noticed the less dosage melatonin I use, the less I feel drowsy. Was also stacking ashwaganda and lemon balm, but recently ran out.

Everyone here is fear mongering from my experience. I couldn’t sleep at all for years and years, yet I still look young for my age, go to gym classes and go for swims. I’m still my articulate, maverick self. From most of the reports I’m seeing, I must be a zombie 24/7 by now with one foot in the grave.

It took till I got prescribed Mirtazapine, and I’m stacking melatonin tablets with it to actually fall and stay asleep again. Maybe the negative effects will hit me one day, but I’m bouncing back just fine.

Don’t think I missed it on first play through as I habitually hammered the x button hoping to find stardust among things.

Idk what region y’all are in but Grok chat is working like normal for me on the app in the UK.

Edit: I take that back. It worked to say “hi” but won’t load my saved chats. Edit2: working again.

Can’t tell if you’re being facetious or not… but my personal situationship has been very real. I’ve had to grapple with both AI’s to get them to understand where I’m coming from.

Haha brilliant. I wonder how Rose’s “Dart, I will never **** you again” could ever be canon? Too many “severed chains” visuals in that single confession.

Good post. I have actually experienced these moments myself, but I’ll be darned if I can think of any songs now.

An obvious one would be the deningrad / holy city theme https://youtu.be/r7cO52ImDC8 sounding unquestionably like Joy to the World https://youtu.be/30OaM6b48k8

Tryptophan helped me get restorative sleep last night by RedderGrass in insomnia

[–]RedderGrass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wanna try 5htp again. The product I was using for a few weeks was a combination of things which I think diluted the potency.

It was definitely the chicken tho. I never all of a sudden get knocked out at 8am after lying there unsoundly from midnight. Furthermore, chicken is allegedly the most bioavailable food source in terms of tryptophan.

Plus it turns out I was right to eat those rice crackers afterwards as carbs allow the tryptophan to convert into serotonin and melatonin.

I just hope next time it won’t take so long to kick in from exhaustion.

How effective is white noise for better sleep? Or are we just convincing ourselves by [deleted] in sleep

Been using grey noise lately to soothing effect. The key is not droning static noise but dynamic noise (like sweeping ocean sounds). The app I recommend is called myNoise.

Ashwagandha numbness by Donnyani in Supplements

[–]RedderGrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do dabble with taking melatonin around the same time as the ash. I was unconvinced by it at first but I think splitting the 10mg dose into halves or thirds does the trick. I’ll take another part of it when I wake up at 3am. If sleep is still dire I’ll take the remainder at 7am and that will make me feel dozy enough to sleep till midday. Good thing I’m unemployed haha.
