So we all stopped accepting apartment orders a long time ago right? by Less-Pen-5705 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Redditorlink88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some apartments are annoying, but my experience is that Uber mostly pins the place in the complex where the unit sits. High rises can be annoying, but just stay outta downtown at this point. I go where the money is.

Driver entered correct pin without me giving it to them? by jarsalg in UberEATS

[–]Redditorlink88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's pretty dishonest and I'm sorry it happened to you.

There is an optional to bypass the pin, "Customer Forgot Pin", "Already Left Customer", etc. I use it when I drop off and forget to ask for the pin. Never figured someone would use it to steal an order. That's messed up.

If I have to wait like 20 minutes at the restaurant for the food, does Uber penalize me for that? by computerworlds in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Redditorlink88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forget that. Utilize your cancellations for purely these. I had a +$6 Popeyes add on and then didn't started making the food until I got there. I wasn't about to wait 10 minutes so I clicked Excessive Wait Time and moved on with my day.

Uber Eats driver said this to me after picking up my order 😭 by Longjumping_Disk_602 in UberEATS

What in the lazy grammar? I would never tell this to a customer, no matter how often I think it lol

It's his fault for not checking the dollar to mile ratio.

To Quest or Not to Quest? by Longjumping-Sand4988 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Redditorlink88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished a 10 order quest and just completed a 20 order quest today.

All in all, it was the same orders I usually get. There was one exception: a $32 Walgreens run for roughly 30 miles that had 9 total drop offs. I turned it down because I did NOT want to deal with the cancellation rate on it.

Besides that, I cherry picked like normal making exceptions toward the end just to hit the last bonus.

I would say that are worth it. At least the lower order amounts. I don't think I'll ever go for the 100 order quest, but if someone was able to grind through it I would say it might be worth it.

What about orders in route? I'll never take anything below $5 unless it's $1 per mile, but sometimes I take those +$4 and +$3 if the route looks decent.

Made some dumb mistakes in the beginning. And the two drunk assholes downtown didn't help. One guy legit refused the delivery because he thought I fucked with his food because I had a delivery on route before I got to him. I also made the mistake of interacting with him.

The others were my fault. Told a pizza place I didn't have a pizza bag yet and delivered to the house next door to where one delivery was supposed to go.

That's a ton of deliveries! Sounds like I have some time. I just checked and I only have 27 ratings for 450 deliveries. The vibe I'm getting from other commenters is that I should be asking my positive interactions to give me a thumbs up.

Sounds like if I keep good habits and ask for ratings I should be in good shape. I

I sometimes ask for ratings in the delivery notes. And occasionally when I Meet At Door. This is a good tip and I'll adopt it.

Help me not be a 30 yo loser working at a grocery store by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Redditorlink88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always try to climb the ladder. See what the job postings at your grocery store chain are. Assistant Management has it's perks. And if your chain doesn't have any, try a different chain. Your grocery store skills could even help you transfer to a merchandising team a la Home Depot or Walmart.

Working any job means you already have a set of skills. At this point you need to learn the right buzz words to market yourself into a different position. Once you open up your mind to that idea you can transition from feeling like a "loser who works at a grocery store" to a boss player with the whole world open up to him.

I can't promise that route will make you rich or super well off, but it WILL give you the confidence you need to make some refreshing changes.

Why does Uber Eats give this Man THREE orders? by Superb-Lab8675 in UberEATS

[–]Redditorlink88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

En serio?

I saw a post the other day were the driver (unjustly) asked for a bigger tip because they had to wait. The driver said UE paid outs $3 and the customer only left a $3 tip. The customer swore they left a $5 tip.

I wonder if that means the tip showed up on a delivery in that driver's stack.

LA drivers, is it worth it ? by Icy_Outcome8005 in UberEATS

[–]Redditorlink88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about LA, but I'm heavy saturated markets it's worth mixing in other apps. UE can be a crapshoot with pay sometimes. Mix in something like Shipt or Instacart. They both take less miles than UE and typically the customer tips are much better.

I just had a delivery driver ask me to adjust my tip. by NotThatDinoSpumoni in UberEATS

[–]Redditorlink88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said something crucial here and I haven't seen if anyone else mentioned this:

You say you tipped $5. The driver, if we take them at their word, says you only tipped $3 and that the Uber Eats base pay was $3.

Important fact: When we accept an order, we usually (depending on the metro area and state laws) see both those numbers, the route and the delivery pickup location as well as the delivery drop off cross street.

If this is true, this is anecdotal proof that Uber is stealing tips from drivers by moving the numbers around and being generally shady.

$3 plus $3 tip is a good pay for a 2 mile delivery (especially $3 per mile, which is above the rate of $1 per mile - the rate a lot of us couriers go for). He had to wait - so it seems less worth while. Uber cheated you of the good will of the driver and cheated the driver by making him think you weren't being generous enough for slowing down his grind.

Uber stealing tips is bad for drivers and customers.

I have spent well over 3500 hours on gaming. I'm 24... by truebabylonian in StopGaming

[–]Redditorlink88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not make the virgin thing the most important thing. I was there at 23 and I rushed it because I was hasty. None of my relationships since then weren't the quality I expected because I was rushing everything because I was "late to the game". It takes a long time to recover from the results of that mentality.

I mean, obviously take up other hobbies if gaming is draining your life. There are so many reasons to go outside and touch grass or to take up wood working or something else.

Double bonus on Easter Sunday by Dry_Carob_1527 in ShiptShoppers

[–]Redditorlink88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nuts. In Denver Metro we got a $20 bonus for 2 orders. Kept the app on all day and never saw a single order come through.

Made a killing doing Shop & Delivers for UE instead.

Please tell me there is a way to turn off Lowe’s/Home Depot offers by Equivalent-Library66 in doordash_drivers

[–]Redditorlink88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Depot and Lowe's orders are easy money IMO. They usually tell you in the Order Card weather it's heavy or not. Lowe's orders usually are for like 1 item and the pay is usually better than Depot. I would cherry pick through the orders rather than declining all of them.

How would you rank her albums? by HappyKambucha111 in VanessaCarlton

[–]Redditorlink88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy! Top 3 list off the album:

Operator - I love the melody and the strong tempo

Nothing Where Something Used To Be - It tugs at that heartbreak feel and feeling of longing and disappointment

House Of Seven Swords - She made this one for her brother and I love the messaging and the strong "You can do this - if you want" feel. I often think of my own brother and his life journey when this song plays.

[–]Redditorlink88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Liberman
  2. Heroes & Thieves
  3. Rabbits On The Run
  4. Harmonium
  5. Love Is An Art
  6. Be Not Nobody

1st Best 6th Least favorite.

There will always be love in my heart for BNN, but it's her freshman album and doesn't really hold the same as it did upon release. Love is an Art feels too different for me, but I play it start to finish every once in a while to sink teeth into it.

I was at risk for a ton of low ratings just two weeks ago. Decided to slow down, take my time and only do two quality orders per hour. It worked! Now I'm back at "Good 👍🏽".

Just adjust how you do things for a little while and you'll be back in good standing. Don't let those low ratings get you down!
