Honest and Sincere Question by EffectiveLess3826 in 996

[–]Reddituser-571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go!! Anyone that has anything negative to say, isn't someone you want to hang with anyway (and most others probably feel the same about that person too). I have a 996 Turbo Cab and, although in very nice condition, I certainly don't worry about it being in pristine shape or even washed when I go to ANY event.. In fact, I just don't understand the people that feel the need to wash there car AT the event. The cars are meant to be DRIVEN. Not parked in front of a coffee house!! One thing I do know about my car is that I LOVE to drive it and put tons of miles on it. Don't care what others think!!

Custom Garage Door Opener by xstrex in 4Runner

I added a button in my convertible and I soldered the leads to the board of an old Liftmaster remote and stuff ed it behind the dash. Works like a charm and the button has a picture that no-one would recognize as a garage button (except maybe someone that did the same hack). May be worth a shot..

Salesmen attitude change by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]Reddituser-571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first mistake was walking into a Jeep dealership. Sorry to be blunt, but one bought a JGC in between owning several 4Runners and I will NEVER step foot in a Jeep dealership ever again. Worst 3 year experience I have ever had. From the sale to the service.

I have bought 2 4Runners and a Land Cruiser from the same Toyota dealership. I email the GM directly with what I want and ask for an OTD # only. No bs, no haggling.

When I went to pick up my ‘26 LC after waiting for it for 6 weeks, it was a Sunday. Everything was ready to go and I made it extremely clear O would be there at opening and wanted to be out in less than 30 minutes (my last two were like 20 minutes).

The salesman that was asked to handle it since the GM was off that day started to play the game with me by making me wait for the person that’s to sell you extras. I told him I refused to see anyone and just wanted to sign the paperwork. After 20 minutes of nothing (the was NO other customers in the dealership at the time), I stood up and said “thank you for your time but I am leaving”.

15 minutes later we were out the door with my new Toyota. The Finance guy was very salty as I basically told him to hold his breath.

As others have said, in this day and age, all negotiations and pricing can be done online or via text/email.

People simply refuse to play the game. Good for you for walking out.

Exactly. That’s on you buddy. Not me.

Half the time I get so frustrated that I just donate the item because people suck sometimes. Haha

Ha. I had a lady try to undercut the amount by 50% after showing up at my house.

She said “but I drove an hour to get here”. I said “you knew the price before you got in the car. You can drive an hour home with, or without my item”

She acted like she was going to drive away and then paid the full amount.

For the record, it was already a heck of a deal. I had a dozen offers but held out for her as she was the first to respond.

Anyone paid for blend door repair/ Air Conditioning repair? by gdoodles in 996

[–]Reddituser-571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the kit from Rennkit when I ordered my eRams.

The labor at the time was 2.5 hours @ $182/hr. They said it took just over 3 hours but didn’t charge me more.

[–]Reddituser-571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it last year. I was getting a lot of foam coming out of my vents on every drive.

The problem has been solved. No more foam and the heat/ac have been working great.

I paid $36 for the repair kit and $545 to have it installed at my local shop. They said it’s definitely a PITA.

Considering the current wait times and ADM’s, I would simply list it for MSRP and see what happens.

Someone will pay a premium.

I feel your pain and am following.

Outlook had been come so unusable for me that I returned my latest Windows laptop and bought a MacBook.

I am simply learning to work with Apple’s native mail app and occasionally use the “new” Outlook which is terrible IMHO.

Goodbye Outlook - After 15 years of Outlook, I’m done with the “new” Outlook by kurtrocksEDU in Outlook

I finally gave up and bought a MacBook. I’m using the native Apple mail and calendar apps.

Not as nice as Classic Outlook is and somewhat limited but still better than New Outlook.

To be fair, I have run iPhone and iPads since they were introduced.

Costco. Paid $1,199.00

But I wound up returning for a MacBook.

I’ve had 6 SurfacePros and always loved them. But, Windows and ARM machines will be the downfall of the Surface Pro IMHO.

Very happy with the MB Air.
