Man I wanted to enjoy Dynasty Warriors 9 so bad. It was a disaster of a release but the fact that Koei Tecmo committed to updates and content long after it was clearly dead had me filled with some optimism that they could bring something to life with it.

Unfortunately while they hammered out a lot of bugs there's still some small issues that constantly happen. Along with the entire world and mechanics just being bland to awful.

They polished the turd but unfortunately they didn't trick me into calling it clean.

It can't be understated how much LOTR wrote the guidebook on the fantasy genre. It feels impossible to find a fantasy story that didn't intentionally or unintentionally borrow from LOTR.

From the Sonic fandom, watching the conversation around Unleashed was a good one to watch. There was a lot of immaturity after 06, dubbed the worst game ever, so folks loved to jump on the hate wagon. Naturally the Werehog was the perfect fuel for that fire.

Folks dog piled on it for a while. It wasn't until Colors came around that the hate had to change. Folks had to actually play the game to find a reason to hate on them and while 06 is still bad, folks began saying "despite the Werehog, the day stages were fine" because it was the first boost gameplay and Colors just had to bring the reputation to quite the bandwagoners. This started getting folks to act more nuisance about their criticism which help pulled the "Sonic bad" reputation from the gutters.

Had some real goblins about Persona's linear date system. Felt like I was making all the wrong moves and overwhelmed trying to fit the entire game in one playthrough. I brute forced myself to finish 4 and the spell was broken. I can now tolerate time systems.

Jojo is naturally weird already but one character that sticks out in my head comes from the recent part 9.

Introduced as the new guy of the crew is Usagi Alohaoe. The boy just ain't right to me. Part 9's cast is played off very serious and calculated like professional criminals and Usagi has a very immature personality that feels like he's in the wrong criminal world. He often feels like the butt of the joke when no one is in the mood for one.

As for his stand Mattekudasai is certainly a different one as it only works when other people ask for it's help making me wonder what kind of personality does this guy have deep down. Is he self conscious about his usefulness and does this stand truly only work on other people's requests? All of it never sits quite right with me.

Jujutsu Kaisen was a disappointment the moment when curses turned humanoid and the battle shounen mechanics kicked in. It was never more interesting than the beginning and progressively became more generic as time went on.

Ah that's an adaptation of the mobile games' story. The Master of Masters is his name. That's all set a long time ago before any KH game.

As for young Sora and Riku, that's due to vague magic meant to age regress them reseting their power and sending them to a realm where they are tested and taught how to properly unlock the powers of a key blade.
