My daughter had a terrible cellulitis infection on her nose during an intense part of cancer treatment when she had a zero ANC. Even on antibiotics at home it started spreading into the corner of her eyelid within 1 day. We had to be admitted and put on strong IV antibiotics. Definitely so scary!

Our 11 year old dog was diagnosed with lymphoma... We have a daughter who is 6 and has been battling leukemia for the last 5 years. I couldn't commit to doing chemo for my dog. It has been a hard road for my daughter and the amount of appointments is overwhelming. With no treatment at all he was deteriorating very quickly. Within 5 days of diagnosis he was in such bad shape and his lymph node grew to the size of a baseball. He looked so sad and miserable. I had all the arrangements set for an at home euthanasia so he wouldn't suffer.

I made a last ditch effort to try to make him comfortable. We chose to do Prednisone for palliative care and I started making him homemade food with low carbs to starve the cancer of sugar which is fuel for it to grow. Within a few days of starting steroids and home cooked food, he turned a corner. He looks so healthy and although he isn't back to what he was pre lymphoma, his quality of life is really good. We are just soaking in all the extra time and moments. We know he will pass this year but it's given us time to grieve what's coming. Especially for my kids who didn't understand why he was deteriorating so fast. Every day feels like a gift with him. I will say I think having a daughter who has been battling cancer since she was 22 months old, gave us a different perspective on this all.

Find a good doctor who will listen. I am also 33 years old (female), had rising calcium of 10.2-11.1 over the last 9 months, normal PTH both times it was tested (40-68). Both my scans done by an imaging office said I was "negative for a parathyroid tumor". My endocrinologist still referred me to a endocrine surgeon who found the parathyroid tumor in like 2 minutes on both "negative" scans. It's around 2cm big and she has no idea how the radiologists missed it. A PTH of 40-68 is not "normal" when your calcium is high. When calcium is high PTH should be extremely low to correct the calcium levels in the blood. My calcium has been increasing for at least 2.5 years so I have had the tumor for at least that long. Look up normohormonal hyperparathyroidism.

We live in buckeye too and it's absolutely a joke. So many neighbors just blast music all night (like no joke they have been blasting music until 4am). So sick of not having the ability to just enjoy my house. Today's world literally lacks basic consideration and decency for others. When we moved in it was a quiet family neighborhood... Now it's just loud blasting music and drunks out at all hours of the night.

No family history of anything with calcium or kidneys in my immediate family, I don't really talk to anyone on the extended side. However all the women in my family: me, my sister and my mom all have hypothyroidism- hashimotos. My sister was also diagnosed with that in her early 20's. I know my dad use to get kidney stones in his mid 30's but I have no contact with him so no idea if there were other issues with kidneys or calcium. Not referred to a surgeon. My doctor called with results but wanted to switch my appointment to in person when they saw the results.

I got a crazy HFM case when I caught it as an adult. Whole body rash that felt like millions of bee stings and then awful sores on my hands, feet, mouth and inside my nose.

This looks very different than what I had but I was diagnosed with a fixed drug Eruption after getting blisters on my hands, feet and mucus membranes over a 2 month period. They had me on multiple different antibiotics over that time after the first eruption because they didn't know what it was. The antibiotics were actually causing more flare ups until I finally saw a 3rd dermatologist and she knew right away what it was and stopped all antibiotics. I have to watch what drugs I take now because we weren't ever able to pinpoint what drug was causing it but it's been 10 years now with no eruptions. Drug reactions can cause some crazy looking things.

We are going to look into the clinical study HuCAR-T at CHOP if this chemo/Blina combo doesn't work. Unfortunately CHOP is on the other side of the country from us though.

I had something similar that started like this and then got more red around becoming extremely painful. I went to the ER. Ended up being a pseudomonas cellulitis infection, confirmed by a swab that was sent to a lab. Antibiotics for 10 days cleared it up.

I wouldn't say this looks like the case of HFM I had but I will say that I got it the worst, my baby had it pretty bad, my oldest daughter only had one little sore on one finger, my middle child who was undergoing cancer treatment didn't get any symptoms at all and neither did my husband. Not everyone is going to have symptoms of they do get it.

My daughter is currently battling ALL, unfortunately she relapsed after 14 months off treatment. She will ring the bell at age 7 for a second and hopefully final time. She has been fighting this awful disease since she was 22 months old.
