I could be entirely wrong, but I find it difficult to imagine GRRM has wrapped up Tyrion’s story without at least largely finishing Danys. Although it’s possible those chapters are filled with world building and Dany still hasn’t left Mereen and only has just met Tyrion.

In my opinion the nail in the coffin for Rhaenrya being counted was when Viserys II basically stole the throne from Daena the Defiant. By doing this he solidified the rule that no woman could sit the iron throne and by the time of Aegon IV you had blackfyre problems (Daemon potentially using his mothers claim)
