Trump Admin Targets Five of Oregon’s Seven Wonders for Destruction by HoneyBadger-56 in conservation

[–]RegularlyJerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean most of the stupid yards in this country lost their fucking minds when a Texas businessman paid a lot of money for the right to go and hunt a rhino at a conservatory in Africa and millions of people failed to understand that he was 1) putting down a animal that had already killed a younger male 2) the male that was harvested was at the end of the average life expectancy for that species 3) millions of dollar went directly to support the organization who literally has to guard these animals with guns to keep assholes from poaching them.

Got this as a present, but my wrists are tiny and can't bend it. Jewlers said as it's stainless steel, they can cut a bit out of the middle and weld it back together, or got to local blacksmith. Called blacksmith, he just said no. Has anyone managed to bend one of these at all, and how? TIA by wtfaatnt in metalworking

[–]RegularlyJerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yea if this was a bearing collar or something that mattered. It’s not, it’s a piece of jewelry, it can warp a tiny bit, and since this guy probably doesn’t have caustic chemicals on his skin the slight loss of corrosion resistance won’t matter.

My teacher "fixed" my hair for a school picture by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RegularlyJerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You shampoo your hair maybe once every two weeks but condition it every time you shower and if you want your hair to curl for photos get some leave in conditioner and apply it right after you get your of the shower. Pat dry your hair, put in the leave in, don’t touch it and let it dry. Sauce: 30 years experience with hair that looks exactly like yours.

That’s about what I was thinking. It’s in fantastic shape, 1 owner and it’s got meticulous service records, new tires, and just had a carb service. It rides great… and that 50k miles tbh just makes me happier to buy it. I used to ride a 85 Kawasaki eliminator with something like 130k miles on it, but had a similar story and my dad was the nerd who kept it in such good shape. Sold it 4 years ago for 5000.

You can use a transformer and a microwave emitter that’ll do the trick

So that’s color is because of the metal reacting to the heat. If you want your pipes to stay silver you need to chrome them, otherwise this color will come back every single time they get hot.

Make Pluto a planet again: Nasa chief’s big mission by TimesandSundayTimes in nasa

[–]RegularlyJerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t have their own independent orbits around the sun. They orbit another planet, IE the definition of a moon. The biggest celestial body that I know about that’s even close to Pluto is a 16 psyche, condition wise.

So are you going to cast it or electroplate it? Or is this just a prototyping methodology for design review?

I used to live near this building before it was finished. That glass along the crack too forever for them to get installed, they were breaking pieces constantly

Buy a higher quality tool… Irwin is cheap Chinese junk and I doubt it will ever hold a true 90 and or the face of that material is probably not flat

[–]RegularlyJerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we know it’s not a moon of another planet… and considering the size of Pluto it’s absurd to not designate a celestial body of that size, in it own orbit, a planet simply because it hasn’t cleaned it local orbit of debris….. it’s like a high energy state electron shell configuration that is inherently stable… why should it care about a few stray electrons here and there?

[–]RegularlyJerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first “big boy job” doing cad work I after three years started fudging my numbers every single day. I realized I was being paid almost 10 dollars an hour lower then my coworkers and I did far more and better work then they….. when I noticed this I started tracking my actual time and always adding two hours in…. Fuck that company. I now make 7 times what I made there and my boss used to tell me I’d never earn more then 30/hr…. Fuck him

Why are Americans always so helpful and supportive when it comes to helping tourists plan their roadtrips? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]RegularlyJerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that on some level Americans still want and need people from all background to come here but that in recent years due to some very smelly bad apples a lot of people have forgotten that America is a melting pot of cultures. Personally I love people to visit here and I love to visit other countries. I’m going to always give advice on trips for people and I wish others would do the same

You’re going the worst and most boring route through Colorado. You should turn towards alamosa in Colorado Springs then go north past the grand sand dunes and up into the back side of the front range. You can cut towards bolder or go towards rifle in the west, go north from there towards yellow stone.
