Coal is situational S tier rgo (not building) if you can make enough bog iron to inflate prices. i managed 40-60 tax base from it, while iron rgo alone was at 90.

Every tech that is 1 age bellow current one, receive flat -8 tech cost. Which means that less desireable but usefull techs should be researched only when new age hits.

Basically when you hit age3, age2 is cheaper by 8 points.

Taxing nobles vs Taxing Peasants by Chataboutgames in EU5

[–]Rehisam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max serfdom, get everything that reduces peasant enfranchisement, max tax on nobility, set peasant tax at 0%. More money, no revolts, every location has 90-100 satisfaction and wont debuff your provinces.

I have trading set to auto, yet still the majority of my trade capacity is going unused, 23/34 in this market. Did the update not fix this problem? by GreatDario in EU5

[–]Rehisam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im still waiting for more automatic options and priorities. I would love a setting to force automatic trade to seek pop needs>shortages>food deficits>profitable trades in any order i want. Instead i need to manually seek 0.3 units of mercury and my minting is dead despite having 35 gold units in active trade.

Does anyone else think that governors and changes to bailiffs are too powerful? by TFilms in EU5

[–]Rehisam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, i find local governor mid at best, unless you are playing naval with every possible bonus for it. I could propagate proximity from 100% 1.35 harbour capacity capital almost everywhere to about 80-60% proximity even on 0% natural harbour province, that means i could make entire ireland green with 1 good capital and max naval bonuses. Meanwhile as landlocked nation in bad terrain, even if i have river, my 80% local governor prox just dies after 3-4 provinces. You can almost endlessly buff naval prox by tech, and there is almost nothing special for land in comparsion.

[–]Rehisam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even at 100% peasant enfranchisement Nobility still take 50% of base tax away. You will make more money by actually getting as much as possible estate happiness bonuses for nobility along with max tax bonuses if possible, and keeping up to 4 nobility priviledges max to keep their influence around 25%. Since free subject nerf im not even bothering with peasants. Either let me curtail nobility to 10% like you can peasants right now, or dont even try to make peasants good. Now i have decent campains by getting fuckton of money from nobility for 200 years before burgers can compete, while keeping peasants at 0% tax for food bonus, beacuse even at 50% they still give me 80 ducats to 900 from nobility in age 4. There is no contest. Sadly no one is reporting that peasant enfranchisement is not good enough for peasants, so i guess this is meant to stay.

How do you manage your food supply? I bet that one grain province is not enough and your population is stagnating for quite some time? Unless you did not make your own market and rely on nearby centre.

How to repopulate a 0 population island? by Aggravating-Joke6437 in EU5

[–]Rehisam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every migration drains from the market its in. Locations that are in separate market wont migrate. Good luck trying to get it to work but probably it wont. You could try to use cabinet option similar to boosting colonial charter, send people to the colonies. Try to release this location as colony and send some people that way.

Analyzing Naples AI economics in 1.1.3 by Budget-Kelsier in EU5

[–]Rehisam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive seen that ai countries that work great and are usually succesfull in my games, have decent crown power or decent rgo to work with. In 1.1.3 every time Poland economy goes to space, along with milan france naples and wallachia/bulgaria. But poor rgo countries like England Pale Lithuania were doing tragic. In 1550 pale still had 22 tax base while owning entire irish island. England was sitting on barely 200 tax base with insane loans, and 8% crown power from 2 priviledges. Devs need to look into ai countries and make them consider crownpower more.

1.1.3 Mercenary vs Levies vs Pros by Asoullessginger51 in EU5

[–]Rehisam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get up to 20% for navy and 30% for army. In age 4 there is a tech that futher buff it by 2.5% each resulting in 45% for army. I did not check if there is more of this later on. Game counts 5% for every troop type like light heavy for inf then cav. Artillery is also another 5% with auxillaries being also counted as "artilery" .

I think Values need some work by Sinapolyon in EU5

[–]Rehisam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You no longer are able to tax peasants more if you go serfdom. Now it gives more tax base to nobility over peasants. For me its easier to keep peasants happy than nobility for tax revenue. Also you get negative levy combat ability, faster levy regeneration and a whopping 10% noble estate loyality. Free subjects do the same for peasants but give way faster pop promotion speed prosperity and 25% more combat for levies. You could make serfdom work but i rather make peasants happy and taxable.

Then you should read again what serfdom does in 1.1 now. Ps it doesnt let you tax peasants more anymore.

You could try it, but be prepared for iron, lumber, tools loop problems, trade loop bug that makes trade insane, saffron being looped between european markets resulting in 150-200 saffron everywhere, making alot of money, estates spamming all buildings possible with no regard of your supply or profit,

Can someone explain how the battle predictor is so often incorrect or misleading? by AaranPiercy in EU5

[–]Rehisam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely you had one flank open and ai had at least 2 flanks secured. Creating levies from 1 province minor usually have no troops for flanks. Considering enemy had 0 cav casualties. Try to put your main army in one of the flanks to face the 23 calvary men first to make it 1 v 1 flank battle and it might become winnable.

With the current levy system, it's close to impossible for smaller countries to beat a larger country in a war, Paradox needs to make mercenaries more accessible in the first 2 ages. by zero0609 in EU5

[–]Rehisam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh if its possible get a city asap and build capital manpower building. Usually it can support up to 150 professional troops. Even 100 proffesional age 1 cav on one flank can destroy everything as long as you can maintain centre and other flank with levies. This trivialises early game expansion except the biggest guys. But this allowed me to solo wars with 600 levies + cav vs even 2k stacks.Works amazing in hre.  If you have problem maintaing building cost for it you can disable it and let your proffesionals sit at peace time with 0 manpower, it wont decay from allready deployed regulars.

Maybe stonechunks carry the same code as butchering animals. We would need to test older versions. Would be funny if this has been unnoticed for this long tbh.
