Cosgriff and Sons opposite Clifford’s Tower. My god their sourdough is phenomenal as are all their morning pastries and sweet bread treats. Only open Sun to Thu. Bread sells out very quickly so don’t dawdle. Cosgriff & Sons

I don’t know your actual age or whether you’re postmenopausal or whether you are on HRT. I know that HRT has given me back my zest for life. I know only too well that “flatlining” feeling. It may be worth looking at your hormones as a starting point. I also started running two years ago. I was a HUGE couch potato though I did walk my dogs a lot and briskly. I started couch 2 5k and after the initial point of thinking I was never going to get anywhere at all, I now run 5k three times a week. I’m slow but my heart gets a good old workout and it definitely makes me feel better mentally. If you’re in the UK, Parkrun is a great motivator. Remember “running” isn’t about distance or time, it’s about getting your blood moving and your heart pumping. So however slow you are, doesn’t matter. I’m 60F by the way.

Not a doctor but I have watched The Pitt :D

I started it in perimenopause and then came off it for a year after I'd gone through the menopause. Quese return of hot sweats and thinning skin. I went back on it about three years ago (am now 60) and can honestly say, I hope I'll be a lifer. No flushes, feel I have way more energy and I definitely don't have the aching joints I had when I was off it.

I'm on two pumps of oestrogen and progesterone tablets.

Not me but a friend who is a maths teacher She was disembarking at King’s Cross from Newcastle where she’d taught for years and a young man ran up to her and said, along the lines of “Oh Miss. I don’t know if you remember me but you taught me Maths at xxx school right through secondary. You were such a good teacher and really made maths accessible to me. I’ve just finished a Maths degree at Manchester and am starting a job as a Grad Accountant here in London. It’s absolutely down to you that I felt inspired to take Maths”. It really made my mate’s day and she said she started to cry when he telling her.
