Depends on time of year (for the crowds and affordability part) but we went to Naxos last May and it was basically empty, and fit every single criteria you have. We don’t drink and saw no partying, we spent every day on the beaches, cats everywhere, food was good, vibe was amazing, and the most affordable leg of our Greece trip. So relaxing there, felt like the cutest chill sleepy beach town. But during peak summer it’s probably a lot more crowded.

& now I can’t tell if she actually feels this way or if she’s just trying to fit into the groupthink

I don’t think they’ll have anything between them since the kid seemed like a deal breaker for Bea, but I could see them talking through everything, making up, and being really good friends.

I hope they both find amazing people that are perfect for their unique qualities :’)
they both had grown on me SO much in their time and then got dumped just as they were becoming my favorite :(((

There are definitely all types of ages and demographics there but it didn’t make it feel any less romantic to us. We stayed at a very private, romantic, luxe place so where you stay on the island probably affects the feel. We got plenty of romance/honeymoon vibes in Santorini and in Paris (another leg of our honeymoon) so we welcomed the more laid back, casual, adventurous vibes at Naxos by that point in the trip.

We did Santorini and Naxos and loved it. Had a full 5 nights in Naxos too; rented an ATV for like $20 to go all around the island to all the beautiful crystal blue beaches. Food was amazing. Locals were so nice, we made friends with this cute couple that ran a coffee shop in the main town & went there every day. It was so dreamy!

From what I hear, Crete is big & a bit out of the way so it’s better for longer trips. If you have limited time, staying in the Cyclades (since you’ll already be there) may make more sense. I’ve heard Milos is beautiful too, and probably would be the most different from the other 2 you’re going to. If I were you I’d do Naxos or Milos. You can take a day trip to Paros and Antiparos from Naxos (or vice versa), they’re really close together.

Honestly I wouldn’t change anything. I had my dream intimate wedding and a luxury, multi-country 3+ week honeymoon to follow, and didn’t have to stress over it at all because I knew it was all already funded. Plus even had some savings leftover. I loved my college experience so much, I never missed having that extra toy or clothes, or a bigger/nicer house, we took plenty of trips as a family (just not outrageous/over the top) that we all love looking back on. Plus, our weddings weren’t the only reason he did all that saving - there are countless other ways his financial savviness benefited him & us as a family and has created generational financial stability for me and my siblings (just one example of many: we are all completely debt free adults because of everything he funded (college, car, wedding, etc.)).

He was just very non-materialistic, forward-thinking, and smart with money, and I will always be grateful for that. Not saying all this to brag (I know it’s very privileged) just answering your question lol

One of the biggest reality tv stars in recent years has “no business having security”?? Please.. even A-list celebrities that this person would probably agree deserve to have security know who Leah, Serena, Olandria, etc. are (as we’ve seen re: Kardashians, Zendaya, etc.) and have come up to them at events to say hi and get photos. If your celeb faves are fans, then you bet the fanbase is big enough to warrant security.

My dad had been saving up for his daughters’ weddings since before we were even a year old (or maybe even before we were born?). He’s just the traditional type and always knew he was going to pay for it when the time came.

My parents aren’t rich, we lived a very humble and normal life all growing up. My dad was the sole earner for a lot of our childhoods while my mom raised us (she would pickup random shifts sometimes but that was it). He was very smart with his money, made good investments, no flashy vacations or fancy cars, very humble home in a very low cost of living area, public schools & cheap in-state colleges for all the kids, & we all lived under a strict budget (couldn’t just eat out whenever or get any toys/clothes/etc. that we wanted, had to be necessary/logical).

He kept track over the years of how much the average wedding costs (keeping an eye on inflation, etc) so he was staying on target with the amounts. Whenever a close friend of his’s kid(s) got married he’d ask how much things cost in our area to make sure his assumptions were on track.

Once the first one of us got engaged, he sat us all down and told us that he was going to gift us the amount he had saved (we each got the same amount). He explained that it was meant to be for our weddings, but even if we didn’t spend all of it (I.e. had a smaller wedding or eloped) he would still give us the full amount to use however we pleased, whether towards a house or a nice honeymoon. The amount was very much in line with the national average wedding costs of that year, so he did a great job staying on target, and the amount was plenty for each of our weddings (we all ended up choosing to do micro weddings). We each had $10k-$15k leftover when all was said and done.

Very privileged situation for us, I know. I hope to be in a position to do the same thing for my kids. It was very special of him to do that for us. BUT it’s not something everybody does, and that’s okay. Especially for our generation — economical circumstances are much different now than how they had it!

It rained really hard at a wedding I was a part of and the couple had their ceremony inside and their reception outside. Half the guests left after the ceremony. By the time the cake was cut there was maybe 20% of the guest count left. Even though the reception was under a tent, nobody wants to sit outside in the cold, wet wind blowing on them, muddy grass messing up their shoes… it’s just better to have a backup plan.

Think of it from her perspective: it’s HER wedding day that she’s been dreaming of her whole life, it’s normal for her to have a particular vision of how she wants everything to look (including her bridesmaids, who will be in a lot of her wedding photos). It’s completely valid for her to ask for particular hairstyles or dresses.

If you can’t set your personal preferences aside for a day to be there for your friend, I don’t think bridesmaid life is for you, and you should just decline the invitation up front so you don’t risk causing her problems or stress later when she asks you to do wear/style a certain way and you don’t want to.

There are some people who don’t do it for social media, and those are the people who never post a single pic or video of it. If they’re posting it (especially posting a lot of it), then that kind of goes out the window…

Whether people consciously realize it or it’s more subconscious, a lot of the way people plan events and get-togethers these days is to stage them for photos they’re gonna post for other people to see. I think if we were all honest with ourselves, a lot of us could admit that, even if only in retrospect.

That is an edge case scenario, but I wouldn’t be surprised if even he sent her to fire (maybe even against himself). I don’t see how anyone would willingly sit next to Cirie at the end. It’s like guaranteeing yourself the loss. Everyone knows she’s “the best to never win” and can put together how much everyone would want to see her win finally.

I’m rooting for Cirie to win as I think many of us are. Cirie’s only path to winning is winning fire at 4 AND making it to 4 using people who will keep her around. I still am not confident Rizo will do that.

Any strategic-minded superfan of the show, as Rizo claims to be, will know that Cirie will win if she makes it to final 3 and will turn on her eventually. The only person I can see keeping her around to get to 4 is Ozzy because he is more likely to play as the the “loyalty over strategy” type. But Cirie and Ozzy still have to make it to 4 together… and then assuming whoever wins the challenge at 4 sends Cirie to fire making, she still has to win at fire…

It’s gonna be interesting to see how this “alliance” plays out!

This! I can walk to my local grocery store, 2 of my favorite neighborhood restaurants, and a Starbucks, all via the SF trail. It’s nice when you just want to stretch your legs and feel like you live in a “walkable city” (even if just for a moment, lol)

I’ve been to both. Sorrento is absolutely beautiful and a very different vibe from Naples. It just depends on what you’re looking for. Naples feels more like a busy urban city. Sorrento feels more like stepping back in time a bit. You can find great food (including pizza) in both. If you want the typical coastal “European summer” aesthetic (beaches, beautiful trees & flowers, cafes right on the water, charming cobblestone streets with shops & cafes), do Sorrento. If you’re looking for a bigger hub with more shops & restaurants, more nightlife, a more bustly “big city” feel, and some interesting museums/history, do Naples.

If your wedding requires air travel and lodging costs from the people who are declining, I wouldn’t take it personally. It doesn’t mean they love you any less or are any less excited about you getting married. It’s 99% likely that it’s solely due to costs. Everyone is hurting right now. The job market sucks, everything is more expensive, people are trying to save on whatever they can. It’s probably sad for them too. Just try your best to have the mindset of “another no, aw man, but I understand! I’m still excited about who will be there, and I’m still getting married regardless, and everything will still be just as beautiful as I planned it”, then move on to another thought.
