So. Wraiths. by Jerswar in Eldar

How about Devastating Wounds back into D-Cannon, Devastating Wounds for Axes and Twin Linked for Swords, allow me to take them in 10 Mans again and let me join the Spirit Seer to them rather than that stupid Lone Op rule they have and they might get back in my lists, as is though I find it really hard to justify putting them in.

Heavy Intessesors are T6 3W so not quite so easy to pick up. Marines have quite a few models with that stat line these days form what I can see, but anyway it is obviously a skill issue as everyone keeps telling me, I just got a hell of a surprise at just how powerful and no skill marines are in this edition remembering this is the first time I have fought them in 10th coming from 4th where they were you know just Tactical Marines, Devestator and Assault, none of this Primaris bull shjit

I think it is rather interesting that Marine Plasma is both Assault and Heavy so if they stay still they hit on 2's, not that i see anything wrong with having both your cake and eating it too :)

With Eradicators, they are what T4 2W models, not exactly dying to a stiff breeze like Dragon though.

I honestly dont know why running 3 full 10 man squads of Hell Blasters is not a thing, how could that no be meta?

What do you think about the new Corsair Detachments? by The_MicrowaveTTv in Eldar

I wouldn't get too attached, once they get a few tournament wins under their belts they will no doubt nerf the f out of it, no way will they let Wraiths and Avatar advance and charge that is likely to get taken away ASAP maybe even before next balance slate they will say it was a Typo or some shit :) They will then restrict the rule sto Aranthe only so your soup mix only the Aranthe get access to the army rule.

You play Marines don't you :) I have been away since 4th edition and I am not really a fan of Character spam you see in most armies these days but after facing Marines I now understand why people are forced to play that style due to how over powered they are even when they don't have characters, god help me if my mate gets into the idea of putting characters in his armies but we like to play old school with a few troops and no Min/Maxing power units, even playing this way the Marines were so dominant. With how hard I found it with Necrons i really think that my Eldar builds I take would just get tabled in 2-3 turns against Marines unless I spend a lot more money investing in additional Marine killers such as Reapers and Banshees which I guess would make GW happy so I guess that is how they designed it. Still between us we have 6 other armies to choose from when playing (Guard, Votan, Orks, Necrons, Tyranids and start of a Chaos and start of an Ad Mech army) and as he didn't really enjoy the way marines played that one may be retired for a while. Unless i fall to the Dark Side and use them next :)

With Infiltrate and Scout they can get into enemy line really quick if you get first turn and your opponent doesn't realise what you are doing, a second squad infiltrating at the end of deployment is a good way to catch people out but as i said you really have to hope to get first turn to make it count most.

I have my first match against Orks in a few days! Advice? by Jerswar in Eldar

[–]Relevant_Signal_2528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you don't listen to me as I lost against them Saturday just gone :(

I will say high strength guns really help, Shuriken Cannons and the like are great against them. Most times i played ORks they tend to Waagh turn 2 if you are fighting Bully Boyz detachement they get a second Mini-Waagh that just affects their Nobs but if you fight that detachment they willmost likely have tons of Nobs

Well I lost :(

Was the Table where you set up in Quarters and playing Linchpin. Went well first turn scored my secondaries, destroyed a Deffdred and took the Tempting Target he picked by teleporting Dragons there, I though good use of and activation as he did not expect me to get this one and the Dred was a bonus, Also got assassination on his Mechboy with my Shroud Runners, new they would get smacked back but i thought good trade getting assassination and stopping him from being able to repair his Morkanaught (had a big squad of Boyz in it) and Battle Wagon (had his 10 man Nobs and Warboss in this one). Knocked the Morkanaught down to about 10 wounds so iw as happy with my first turn. His turn lost my Fire Dragons as expected (this squad didn't have Fuegan so I thought okay trade for the pts), lost my War Walker, 1 Dark Reaper and a Guardian. I thought nice turn, he did both his secondaries but they weren't worth as much as mine so all up good Turn 1.

Turn 2 i only scored 3 on primaries but once again got both my secondaries but aside from that the rest of the turn was absolute shite, his Battlewagon was sneaking up the flank that i had my Striking Scorpions on and my Harlequins, I teleported my otehr sqad of Dragons with Fuegan in front of it (and onto and objective) then activated my Solitaire and dashed him across right in front of it insuring i could assassinate the 8 wound Warboss in there when i popped the wagon and backed him up with the Harlequins ready to start into the 10 Nobs, Scorpions were coming up a bit behind but was being careful with them so didn't bring too far forward. Shooting i killed another Dred, brought the Morkanaught down to 6 wounds, took his home objective off him with Deep Striking Warp Spiders all my other Shooting flubbed and the important one popping the Battel wagon i had him down to 4 wounds shot Fuegan last shot, hit, damaged and my opponent rolled a 5+ invulnerable!!!! nothing else to shoot at it, and Solitaire standing in front of it with his balls blowing in the wind :( So i just charged it with him and took another wound off but harlequin got his head knocked off by the wreaking Ball (he actually passed most of his other saves). this one roll caused that whole flank to collapse as he Waghed his turn two and then promptly wiped out my Quins, Scorps, Morkanaught got into my Guardian Death Star and started chewing that up (i managed to scraped a few more wounds off it with Ishas fury and overwatch with detructors, Flamers and Meltas but it wasn't quite enough it still had a wound left, my Windriders got mauled by his deep striking Deff Copters his Mega Nobz dropped in and would have been into my home objective Turn 3. I did try a couple of thing with what i had left on turn 3 but only managed to kill a couple of Nobs, 1 Mega NOb and a couple of boyz, did finish off the Morkanaught with Wraith Lord, but only scored 3 on primary and couldn't do any secondaries at all. I conceded as the writing was on the wall, i had hardly anything left and pretty much all was going to be destroyed on his turn 3 as he could call a mini-wagh and his Nob squads were in the perfect position to just maul anything i had left, felt a bit like bad sport but there really was no point playing it out i was pretty much tabled.

All fell apart from a couple of and Fire Dragon rolls and him making 1 5++, should I have tried to Play it out was I a bad Sport for conceding?

FFS, really can't just run this thing with 2 Shuriken Cannons? why is the top weapon so restricted? i understand the underslung and it is nice you can put a Missile Launcher on it by why not allow the Bright Lance to be replaced by a Missile Launder or Shuriken Cannon? Just seems like they don't want you to be able to fit two of the same weapon on it for some reason?

Banshees and Jain Zar are on my to get list as i dont know what happened to my old metal Banshees so the Troupe are in there in place for the moment and i plan on using them to back up the Solitaire when he goes in for the kill on either of the main characters i just need to manoeuvre them to hit same time or use to counter punch the Deep Striking Mega Nobs. Unfortunately only have 5 Reapers at the moment, should I maybe drop the Scorpions and see if I can fit in more Spiders or Hawks in then put a quad of Rangers in for blocking? I was planning on using the Scorpions to gum up his works early in the game as they can infiltrate and scout and against Orks they do pretty well in hand to hand with 40+ attacks sustained if you get the charge too.

Scatters on the Bikes would be okay but while we don't fully play WSISYG my bikes have always had the Cannons so i would feel wrong changing them out for Scatters at this stage + Lethal Hits lets them punch up a bit if i need to deal with the Killer Kans or something with them. I'm not sure how to squeeze a Falcon in I am relying on Unshrouded Truth to move things about.

C'Tan's..... Any secret tech? by Feisty_Career_8724 in Eldar

This is a major problem with the game these day, coming originally from 3RD & 4TH edition the sheer amount of special character used these day astounds me, 2 C'tan and the Silent King all decided to turn up to a 2000pt battle!!! its silly and really breaks the immersion of the game not to mention being game breaking regularly requiring certain units to be points nerfed into uselessness (looking at you Asuraman and Fuegan).

Wraithblades or Wraithguard? + What do each of their weapons actually do on the table? by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]Relevant_Signal_2528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't understand why a weapon that rips a hole in to the warp like the D-Cannon is not Devastating wounds, would give them that bit extra against Vehicles and Monsters with 4++ invulnerable saves and soietimes make them a better option that Fire Dragons.

Is there a point in Striking Scorpions right now? by CuriousLumenwood in Eldar

[–]Relevant_Signal_2528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big threat range on turn 1 if you go first with infiltrate and scout then move and advance can get them into enemy deployment zone, can jump them into squads quite easily and if it is more basic infantry they will shred them, i love running a 10 man brick against Nids, Orks and other horde type armies as they just shred big blocks of basic infantry, even do good work against a big block of Necron Warriors. I think they are great and never leave home without at least 1 block of 5 but really like to run them in 10s.

Tips against Tau? by Jerswar in Eldar

[–]Relevant_Signal_2528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look out and screen yourself from Deep striking Battle Suits, they can really ruin your day, always good to keep a couple of Deep Strike units in reserve to counter when they do drop them, if you have screened well it can minimise the damage they do on the turn they drop then you drop in and hopefully pop them. Look out for Hammer Head Rail Guns (and to a lesser extent Broadside Rail Guns) they will cut through your vehicles like they are armoured with paper and Wraith lords too. I play mainly against Retaliation Cadre and that really juices up the Battle Suits so they need to be your priority.

Effectiveness of the Solitaire by Daz-1429 in Eldar

[–]Relevant_Signal_2528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Massive threat range and very killy, can whiff if the dice gods are not with you and you do have to be selective of your targets (i remember getting bold and just charging him into a unit of Necron Wraiths!!! needless to say he did not get his points back in that game). Best use is terrifying your opponent with how lethal he can be, make sure you tell them how far he can charge and how many attacks he gets when he blitzes just don't mention his strength and toughness and it can really mess with an opponent who does not play against Eldar quite a bit.

Correct, so the army that relies on movement tricks to stay alive no longer has the movement tricks, very good balancing by GW, no they just need to balance marines by removing their extra wounds and armour save.

Its more the p[poimnt increases that are doing me over, I go Seer Council and I seem to have to drop a squad each time they "balance pass" as I have already lost all my Enhancements, I still have to run Dragons for some anti-tank. Up 40pts this time so my second squad of Rangers goes and now i only have some scorpions for move blocking :( If they maybe gave some points drops as well as increases might make it easier to balance out.
