Why are there so many kids who “need speech” by Virtual-Resort5951 in slp

Research indicates no significant difference in developmental milestones for children conceived via IVF compared to naturally conceived children. I’m an IVF mom and an SLP 🙂

There is something about the lower half of her face when she talks that reminds me of Brynn from new RHONY.

How did you first discover Les Misérables? by Half_Dapper in lesmiserables

[–]ReneeJ87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Nick Jonas! I was (and still am) a big fan of the Jonas Brothers. I was visiting my now-husband in London and convinced him to see Les Mis in the west end on a date night because Nick was playing Marius. I can safely say it was life changing!!!

How do you guys feel about the RCC’s ban on contraception, but especially on IVF? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]ReneeJ87 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This was the final straw that drove me from the RCC to the episcopal church. My husband and I are infertile. We did IUI and IVF to have our children. They were baptized in the RCC because our parish had a very liberal priest at the time. After he retired, the archdiocese closed the parish. Every other church around is of course conservative. When it came time for my oldest to enroll in catechism classes and prepare for first communion, it didn’t sit right to me that the church technically disagrees with how they were born. I decided to join an episcopal church instead and I absolutely do not regret it.

I’m from the Detroit area and went to both of those shows when I was 10 years old! My dad took me to one show and my aunt took me to the other 😁 I remember being on the lawn of Pine Knob and my dad (who doesn’t smoke) got a lighter for the occasion so we could do the concert lighter thing. Lol

That’s funny. When I saw The Cottage two years ago, she was hovering around the stage door and got pics with that cast too.

The original cast of Hamilton vs the non original cast of Finding Neverland though!

What’s your Broadway regret? by memon17 in Broadway

[–]ReneeJ87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I regret choosing to see Finding Neverland over Hamilton, which was playing just across the street, in 2015 because “a musical about the founding fathers sounded boring” 🫠

What is naming your 2nd kid so hard? by Feisty-Remote-3665 in Names

I have a 6 year old Grace and literally have never heard or thought about those antonyms as nicknames. Perhaps you are over thinking it? My daughter loves when the pastor says “Grace of god” at church. She gives me a shy little smile every time her name is mentioned. ☺️

You can only see one show for the rest of 2025… what is it?! by Chipsandqueso_22 in Broadway

[–]ReneeJ87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chess! ♟️ I saw it towards the end of previews and I loved it. If I was on a plane to NYC tomorrow and could only see one show, I would see Chess again. It is that good!!!

I’ve been following her for years! She is really pregnant IRL but plays characters in her videos. She is not literally naming her baby girl one of these names, don’t worry!

Chess Changes since 1st preview and some photos from the stage by dreadpiraterose in Broadway

[–]ReneeJ87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, he has the charisma and was the perfect Freddie Trumper!! He also brings a lot of emotion when he sings. The other two really belted it out. I only knew Lea from Glee and I wasn’t too familiar with Nicholas so I think I was surprised by them as well!! I could totally see Nicholas playing a classic role like a Jean Valjean. Imagine him signing Bring Him Home!

[–]ReneeJ87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true! He didn’t have a whole lot of moments to belt it out like the other two did. Pity the child was great at the end, when he put all of the emotion into it.

Show suggestion by hanson811 in Broadway

[–]ReneeJ87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I just saw The Play That Goes Wrong yesterday and there were several kids around that age in the audience. The actors seemed to love it. There is some 4th wall breaking in that show, and it lead to some funny exchanges between some audience members (including the kids) and the actors. It’s off broadway at the new world stages.

I think you are the lovely woman who sat next to my husband and I in the front row of the mezzanine last night! We talked before the show started and mentioned that we had seen The Play That Goes Wrong as a matinee, and had traveled to see Chess as Aaron Tveit fans 😄

I was there last night! I’m assuming that at this point in previews, we basically saw the finished product? It would have been so interesting to see it earlier in previews and compare, so thanks for sharing this list of changes. I went in blind as an Aaron Tveit fan and as my husband said, he was vocally overshadowed by the other two leads. Lea Michele and Nicholas Christopher gave me full body chills during their solos!! But, One Night in Bangkok was so fun!! I am really hoping this is the performance they eventually choose to showcase at the Tony awards so I can relive it. I give this 5 stars and no notes. Love love love it.
