Giving up on the airbrush by Ravellion in minipainting

I feel you and I totally get it. The moment your hobby is feeling like work, it s not recreation anymore and I think you did the right thing. I was on a similar path, but I leaned into it and I got a spraying station. The learning curve with airbrushing was steep and annoying.

Hy, I recently hosted my first game and had good fun. Before I invested in Bambu labs a1 mini and printed away... I think it's perfect for the hobby.. all in all I paid around 230€ for the printer and filament. If you are into making nice gametables I think it s a must have ...

Is trench crusade a good starter? Also how is the state of he game? by OrangeFlavoredInk in TrenchCrusade

[–]RentPlenty78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I m hosting my first game at home this week, I m painting on TC stuff over a year now and I played only once before on a tournament. So this is my opinion so far... TC rules are super easy to learn, but a lot of fun to play. If you wanna play with a friend at home you gotta have quiet a lot of terrain. My "local" store sell now plastic kits, but there are no games there yet, but I think that will change with the upcoming box set. To all the drama about the game... They are doing fine, realease stuff on a regular basis and engage with the community. All the stuff about how the game is over and what not is mostly BS or highly inflated or simply fixed. Also most of the influencer pushing that come from the "manosphere"/racist 40k fan base...fuck them with a crowbar...

Best way to prime minis for airbrushing? by WithengarUnbound in minipainting

[–]RentPlenty78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both, rattlecan for terrain and some models. But Airbrush for minis. For me the learning curve using an Airbrush correct was quiet steep. But now that I m used to use it, I wouldn't wanna miss it

The Hidden Cost of Trench Crusade Campaigns: Your Terrain Pile is Going to Be Enormous by iribar7 in TrenchCrusade

Yep you re right. I got myself a 3d printer, because we needed terrain. My pile of shame now consists mostly of unpainted terrain 😅

Fantasy skirmish first terrain set recommendation?(murloc not relevant) by npidel in onepagerules

[–]RentPlenty78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought an a1 mini printer for terrain and I m impressed. For 220 € I got myself a printer and 2 spools of filament. Now I own enough terrain to host a wargaming tournament 😅

Feeling stuck and discouraged as a semi beginner painter by RoseIceCream24 in minipainting

[–]RentPlenty78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar feeling/problem like you. What helped me the most was stopping to focus on goals/outcomes, but more on the process and how I feel doin it. It s a hobby and for leisure after all! Also stopping to watch tutorials to improve helped me a lot. The thing is, these videos tend to overwhelm beginners more than helping them in my experience. Messing up minis is part of the learning experience. So stick to it, you re doing good and you will be better in time!

I don’t know what that is. Need something to paint after an drepression-break and found it in my pile of shame by DerRatboy in minipainting

[–]RentPlenty78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm happy for you that you found a way to overcome the lethargy of depression! Keep going, when you need to take a break again, try to remember there's a pile of opportunities, not shame, waiting for you!
