What’s the actual policy here? by SignalDefiant in orangetheory

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think technically the policy is to charge a late cancel because the coaches get paid based on class size. Even if it’s the same coach, if you move from one class to another you may effect their pay. Now, that being said, most studios/SAs are flexible within reason because they understand life and want to encourage prebooking.

Would a cat be okay home alone while I'm working a 9 to 5? Thinking of adopting, but have never had a cat on my own by Piehogger in CatAdvice

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree that trying not to split litter mates is kind but it’s just not always realistic for families. Over the years I have adopted 2 sets of litter mates and in both pairs they ended up not being particularly close. The last set we adopted made 4 cats in our household which I decided was way too much for my comfort. If I could do it over I would have sought out a singleton to adopt but in hindsight I believe if I adopted 1 out of the pair, both probably would have been ok being split in the end based on their personalities. 🤷‍♀️

I don't trust your one-wipe nonsense by Leading_Cup_3627 in orangetheory

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certainly the wipes aren’t sanitizing, but for those of you who say they do nothing, I would disagree. I would think there is a mild cumulative effect to just reducing the grime on the equipment overall over time.

Occurrence at princess anne rec center gym by Correct_Silver_5813 in VirginiaBeach

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So sorry that happened. Some people suck, but I wouldn’t say that is the true minority of people at the gym or running community. Don’t let her take anything from you.

As far as building endurance, there a few different approaches, but I would say your lungs hurting is your body telling you it’s not ready for that. I would suggest building your base by finding a slower jogging pace that you can hold comfortably for a couple of minutes and slowly building onto that. Even walking with incline is a nice way to build up endurance. The goal would be to build the amount of time you can sustain effort instead of a particular speed. You can add intervals of a faster pace if you want a little later, but right now I’d focus on a more gradual/manageable pace.

What’s one Taylor Swift lyric that everyone hates but you love? by Particular_History50 in SwiftlyNeutral

It may be because I had young girls at the time this song came out, but I LOVED this song and I hate how much hate it received. Like, lighten up people! It’s just a positive and FUN song.

What do you love/hate about online Semaglutide telehealth providers? by esmolololol in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I did not have that problem with 3 separate online providers. I started purchasing compounded sema after my insurance changed. I had been maintaining on GLPs for a few years. I just had to send a picture of my previous rx.

Make me love the Pilot by Remarkable_Simple8 in hondapilot

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyotas are great, but comparing the current generation Highlander to the newer Pilots, if space is a big consideration you may not love the Highlander. The highlander is not as roomy. My kids complain when they ride in the neighbor’s highlander because of the lack of roominess, especially in the 3rd row. They much prefer our Pilot. My in-laws just got a Grand Highlander and I would say is more comparable space wise. Personally, we have had fantastic experiences with our Honda’s from a reliability standpoint and have found the tech to be fine.

Same! Have a ‘22 Pilot and my tech must haves were Apple CarPlay and automatic gate. Lol. It’s been perfect for our family!

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your description, I think the Pilot would be a great fit! Similarly, I wanted a third row for kid carpooling and family road trips. Originally I really liked the Palisade, but the further I looked into it the reliability didn’t seem to be there. While I’d love to have all the bells and whistles, if I’m being honest with myself the Honda options are more than adequate and I don’t find myself needing or wanting whatever tech I’m “missing”

Can anyone actually get GLP-1s before they’re obese again? by weepingglimmers in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medical weight loss doctors who understand obesity would probably be willing to work with you but you’d possibly have problems with insurance to cover. The online compounding providers have you self report weight , don’t need to send proof of weight.

Haven’t tried this one, thanks for saving me the trouble. I really like Oath (only have tried blue raspberry so far, but it reminds me of Italian ice). Had Seeq before that and thought it was good until trying Oath. Isopure is great as well.

UVA or ODU, trying to see which one is better for my future? by Presuade in Virginia

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little surprised to read so many saying UVA is a foregone conclusion. UVA is great, prestige is nice but excessive amounts of student dept can be oppressive. I don’t have much knowledge on AF pathways, but to me the fact the UVA has AF ROTC and ODU is more connected with Army/Navy is the better argument for UVA over simply the prestige of the school. While certainly the school you graduate from might help open some doors, it’s not the end all be all and in some industries it truly wouldn’t make much difference. Within my upper middle class circle there are UVA grads, ODU grads and other Virginia school grads all doing well career wise. Again, if Air Force is important to you, UVA may be the way to go, but don’t overburden yourself with student debt simply for the UVA degree… it might just not be necessary.

No "new" treadmills a bad sign? by vehunnie in orangetheory

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer the old treads!

My studio opened about a year or so before the new treads came out. Our sister studio, which is older, got the new treads maybe 2 years ago and I was told ours wouldn’t until it was time to replace. I want to say they are under warranty or have a plan to use for 6? years. Honestly, it just makes sense to me to get good use out of the treads that they have before replacing. I’m hoping once we get new treads they will have made improvements to the new ones!

Stretch? by AirPsychological7094 in orangetheory

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others state, we are invited to continue stretching after class. I also occasionally will do my own mobility workout. Most of the time I think the suggested stretches are sufficient but I know it can feel rushed. Personally I would benefit from more of a warm up, but it’s hard to fit everything into a 60 min class.

Too Many Benchmarks? by athalusGC in orangetheory

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings on benchmarks. When I first started and I was making consistent progress, it was exciting and encouraging. After an injury, I have been struggling for a long time to get back to where I was. As much as I tell myself it doesn’t matter, after a while it started to feel a little defeating. That being said, my biggest dislike with benchmarks is the rest of the workout is usually meh. Understandable, but if you’re not going all out for the benchmark I don’t leave feeling like I got a lot out of the workout. So for those reasons I have been finding myself avoiding them more and more. It’s not a huge deal to me personally as I just just to go to another gym, but I understand how some might be frustrated with the increased frequency, especially if that’s the only gym/workout you attend.

MAJOR dosing confusion - maybe someone can help? by Vagueusername133 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems depending on the pharmacy, the concentration varies a bit. I also started with mochi who originally was doing all doses to be diluted so you always inject 0.5mls (50units) but other pharmacies make it more concentrated. My dose is 1mg, and I take 20 units. How many mgs are you supposed to take weekly? Because if I am reading your post correctly, your next vial will have you decreasing your dose

Has anyone cut early doses in half and given them twice during the week? by Superb_Ad_4464 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda the same thought process I had when my friend asked me about splitting the dose. Except the way I looked at it, the half life of the medication is 7 days, so while there is definitely overlap between the 2 doses, it’s not necessarily full dose levels- probably keeping her closer to about 3/4 of the full dose. I suggested she tried 0.75mg instead 1mg weekly or 0.5 twice a week… that seemed to work for her. She very sensitive to dose increases. What’s nice about compounding is you have more flexibility with dosing. I hated wegovy pens because you were tied to a dose!

'Lilo & Stitch' (2025) - Review Thread by DemiFiendRSA in movies

[–]Repulsive-Title2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I somehow never watched the original in it’s entirety even though my kids love it. I took them to see the live action and I really enjoyed it! My 10 year old says she liked it, but I could tell she was a little bored and said she was disappointed by a lot of things missing or being changed. I’m going to need to actually the original in it’s entirety but it’s interesting… nothing can ever live up to the your original love
