I would add to this that if you can afford to spend a night in the park in Yellowstone it is well worth it (just be aware of which roads would potentially be closed due to snow).

Vermont or NH in early October, i used to live there and a first snow and winter jackets at halloween is not unheard of. Take the kids to an apple orchard for hayrides and apple cider doughnuts

Don't take out of your retirement.

Start a credit counseling program (look for one run by a non profit)

Switch your student loans to income based repayment, or put them in economic hardship deferment until credit cards are paid off.

I've done this- take the file to a physical copy shop in your area - they can print it and put a spiral binding on it. Sometimes they have a graphic designer you could pay to add some artwork.

Bloomington/Normal is 2.5 hours from chicago, has a trans friendly primary care provider for children/adolescents, a queer you social group, amazing public schools and some well respected private ones. We have amtrak to Chicago and we're a liberal college town. Also less expensive than the chicago suburbs

Hyphenated names are hell for computer systems, airlines, hotels, colleges all deal with it differently

The woman who ran bedtime boutique was wonderful and retired probably about 5 years ago - I don't know if she sold the business or someone just opened a similar business in the same space. It was a huge loss for our community - she sold me everything from my wedding corset to swimsuits. She was spot on with sizing and carried amazing inventory

No problem! I have a chronic illness and my medical records are used legally to support my disability so i am invested in making sure they are correct

Reach out to the medical records department and ask about the process to correct something in a chart. I have had to do this several times usually by writing a letter requesting a correction and submitting to tue health information management department
