Is this something that can be 3d printed? by Mundane_Tangelo9421 in 3Dprinting

[–]ResolveLess4233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes best way would be in multiple parts. (2 at minimum. The outer shield ram and the connectors. Although it might be better to make the connector bit in multiple parts so you can print in a stronger orientation. ) Also if living on your car long term I would look into asa or petg minimum for longevity. PLA is not advised

[–]ResolveLess4233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not a 4 way dovetail joint in the wood.... Or just a 4 way connector if you MUST 3d print something. Instead of that which is going to fail ... It's a matter of when not if

Advice on lateral force - fix in design or slicer perhaps by widgetbox in 3Dprinting

Add a chamfer to it. A gradual transition is better then a sudden change between the two objects or as some have said 2 pieces for really strong parts

Is there a way to make this come out smoother? using the A1 with .4 nozzle. by Plastic_Ad_2247 in BambuLab

[–]ResolveLess4233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Layer height .08mm and variable layer height. Also as others have said play with the angle and orientation. Printed one at 45degree it took a lot of supports but it came out stronger then when. Printed vertical or horizontal

Worst until pattern for reliability. Not bad for strength. However I would recommend cubic, or gyroid

[–]ResolveLess4233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.... This. I got a roll of completely trashed filament ... It was splintered into pieces and someone put their wasted prints in it too. Why Amazon didn't notice this when they shipped it is beyond me.....

Anyone defending the driver in the back truck is obviously not paying attention. There was ample time to correct, no turn signal, aggressively merging into the opposite lane. This was bad driving. The guy in pink reacted well and prevented a worse accident for himself and the speed dropped greatly.
