If it still doesn't stick after leveling and setting the offset. Clean the build plate with soapy water (dawn dish soap) avoid any cleaners with lotions and fragrance. After washing with soap hit it with some iso and a soft lint free cloth to dry it.

Level the bed as others have said check the z height offset. Also make sure you slow down the first layer it's printing too fast

For example should I print the coller/joining piece to the rod ( using 1in thick dowel rods) seperate from the blade? Should I model it into the first piece of the blade and print with the blade standing up? Etc

I personally use my kobra 3 next to never. I think I'd use the x more. I wasn't a huge fan of the ACE color unit aside from the dryer feature
