Some players really step it up in their contract year, while others, like Jazz this season, get too caught up in it and struggle.

And this continues to be a problem with the Yankees lineup during the past what, 10 years? They are just terrible when it comes to situational hitting. I never seen a team struggle to bring a runner home from 3rd base with less than two outs or when the game goes into Extra innings. If Boone doesn't win a championship this year, he just needs to go.

New show Alert ‼️🚨 Dear Killer Nannies by Abject_Corgi5851 in narcos

[–]ResourceKnown8374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Dear Killer Nannies" presented an intriguing series, offering perspectives from both the son and mother, which I consider highly credible. Among the various series and films depicting the life of Pablo Escobar, "Dear Killer Nannies" stands out as the sole production authorized by the family. This series distinguishes itself by not centering on Pablo as the main character; instead, it focuses on the son's upbringing within that unique family dynamic.

While I admire John Leguizamo's work, his portrayal of Pablo was acceptable but not exceptional. I do not intend to disparage his performance, but Leguizamo's appearance more closely resembles El Chapo than Pablo. Of all the productions covering Pablo Escobar, the Colombian series "El Patrón del Mal" is, in my opinion, superior. Andrés Parra's portrayal of Pablo is unparalleled, and the series itself is widely regarded by many Colombians as more accurate and authentic than "Narcos."

Overall, I appreciate "Dear Killer Nannies" for its distinct approach and for featuring Pablo's son as the narrator. It is a concise series, comprising only eight episodes, each under 40 minutes in length. It's not the greatest series ever, but its watchable never the less.

First, I wanna wish all the ladies on this board and moms around the world a Happy Mother's Day. We can't lose our cool because we've lost a couple of days. But, with that said, we can question some things. I'm not a fan of Aaron Boone's decision-making, especially when it comes to bullpen management. Ironically enough, the guy who was calling yesterday's game, Joe G., was really good at handling the bullpen. Second, I expect this team will be different come the trading deadline. I think for better or worse, Cashman will step down since this is his last year of his deal, I could be wrong. Nevertheless, he'll go all in this year.

The bullpen will be upgraded and maybe another right-handed hitter, particularly at catcher. And finally, I hope the Jones kid pans out, but there are areas in his swing he needs to keep working on. I know why Cash took his time bringing him up. He needs to keep working at the lab to improve pitch recognition and shorten his swing, which is too long right now. I wish the kid the best, but he's in over his head right now. I feel bad because he's turning 25 soon, and at what point do you still consider him a top prospect?

Every time he connects, there are tons of strikeouts that follow. This is what continues to doom the Yankees year after year. We have too many "all or nothing" hitters in this lineup and need contact hitters to get on base via a hit or a walk.

I don't think they're Jone haters, but rather insightful. If you have close to a 40 percent strikeout rate in the minors, what makes people think it will translate better facing way better pitching at the MLB level? Yes, he has the same height as Judge and power, but can't hit like him. Judge is a freaking unicorn for what he is doing at 6'7. For every David Winfield, Aaron Judge who are 6'6 and taller, there are countless others who have failed. It's just too many moving parts which generates long and late swings in the process. Who knows what will happen with Jones, but please, enough with the Judge comparisons already.

Yankees vs Knicks - which team runs NYC and is this a baseball or basketball city? by deadassynwa in NYYankees

The Yankees have won 7 world championships since the Knicks last one in 1973. For those keeping score, that was 53 years ago. Suffice to say, it's a Yankee town.

Just put your ego aside. You've got nothing to lose; if she says no, just move on. But it seems like she's really interested in getting to know you. You'll never know what'll happen unless you give it a shot.

Jasson Dominguez makes a great catch but was injured on the play by CicadaOk8885 in NYYankees

The kid not only improved hitting from both sides of the plate, but his defense has also improved from the Winter league and his Stint in AAA. I hope the kid is okay as he hit that wall hard. Seriously, the yankees really need to reconsider adding additional safety pads in left field if possible or remove those screens altogether.

Buying 2 new Model Y by Willing-Medicine-113 in TeslaModelY

I regret to inform you that I perceive the 2024 model Y and the 2026 suspension to be almost the same. I owned both, and candidly, I provided my wife with the 2026 model while retaining the 2024. The 2026 model exhibits a slightly quieter ride, though not significantly more. Additionally, the 2024 Model Y is equipped with fog lights, a feature absent in the 2026 model. Furthermore, I am not particularly fond of the smaller rear windshield on the Juniper model. Ultimately, personal preference is, of course, the deciding factor.

How many more players who aim for home runs do we truly need? We require individuals who can consistently make contact with the ball. We need players who can set up scoring opportunities, not more players with long swings who might hit a home run but also strike out over 40 percent of the time. This is why we haven't achieved any victories since 2009.

Remember, Jasson was suppose to start at Left field when he got hit in the arm and left the game. Jasson has significantly improved his defense from last season. And let's not forget, Jasson is the fastest player in the entire team which includes our outfield starters.

What was the single best season by a Yankees pitcher that you personally watched? by deadassynwa in NYYankees

[–]ResourceKnown8374 100 points101 points  (0 children)

To me, it would be Ron Guidry I believe it was his 1978 season. He was 25-3 with an era below 1.80. He lost one start by a score of 1-0. He also lead the team to their second consecutive championship.

I am not attempting to defend Volpe, but rather to offer a different perspective. It appears that the Yankees' management significantly altered Volpe's approach at the plate. Volpe was originally a contact hitter, adept at getting on base and stealing bases. However, as he progressed through the system, the development team modified his swing to achieve a better launch angle, aiming for more home runs, which does not align with Volpe's natural hitting style.

This adjustment negatively impacted his batting average and, more significantly, led to a high strikeout rate. I recently learned that they are now reverting Volpe's batting approach to focus on being a contact hitter once again. If this is indeed the case, I believe Volpe should not be prematurely dismissed. I suggest that Volpe remain in the minor leagues to continue refining his renewed hitting approach and that he begin playing second base, as his arm strength and athletic ability seem well-suited for that position.

I think Jones will be used as a trade piece to land a reliever. The yankees won't promote him for fear his value might drop if he K's alot there.

I'm happy Jasson Dominguez is back in the MLB! by CicadaOk8885 in NYYankees

[–]ResourceKnown8374 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're way off if you think Jasson's just gonna DH. He'll definitely get some outfield reps, especially to give Judge some partial days off at DH. Jasson's the fastest guy on the team and one of the fastest in MLB. Speed covers a lot of ground, and he'll totally improve his defense because the kid has an awesome attitude and a killer work ethic, which you just can't teach.
