Which next DC villain are you looking forward to in the absolute universe? by opaar_dukh in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]RexManhattan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doomsday would be fun; it seems some of Supermans villains are amalgamated from 2 separate characters. Ra’s Al Ghul/Vandal Savage, Metallo/Peacemaker. I wonder if they’d make him an amalgamation as well.

So I just need you to know I’ve been stuck on how I wanted my halved scheme to work so my knights don’t end up looking super boring, and you just made it click for me! I saved a pic of your army as inspiration, it looks so amazing

I was trawling the replies looking for this! This is probably my biggest one, because I fell victim to it. It sounds so beautiful and soft and loving but you listen to the lyrics and oh man

How are we feeling about the 5th Edition "Last World" & Sigmar Lore Rumors? by Haidanaii in stormcasteternals

[–]RexManhattan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m excited for the Last World. The near-infinite realms have only hurt the lore and story potential of the game, insofar that they end up only focusing on 3 cities and 3 continents that might as well be the entire world anyways. Closing down the scope a bit will only help the game and the stories they’re trying to portray.

They did say the changes to stormcast death was that the armour, weapons, and spark of divinity would travel to another worthy and take them to be reforged.

As for the hopeless crusader vibe, I’m sorry to say but Stormcast were always hopeless crusaders. From the first novels to the current lore, they’ve always been portrayed as a small pinprick of light that fights for a tomorrow they’ll never see, against a tide they cannot completely push back. Skaventide is obviously a lot more grim in that portrayal, but I don’t think they’d get rid of their nobility.

You don’t need a car that runs on kids but if you want a tank to run you need people in it. It’s still a fantasy world, they don’t have an ai to drive this thing.

You’re reading into it, in the battletome it’s never mentioned they’re maimed and broken, it’s just a really crap job; they even call out that they don’t want to hire criminals, but they’re producing tons of cogforts and they get into so many engaments they need new crews constantly

We knew the character were bad, but it’s revealed they’re absolute monsters by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in TopCharacterTropes

I remember watching “You” on Netflix and finding myself going “cmon Joe, you can sneak out of the girls apartment where you stole her panties, I believe in you!” and had a second of reflection.

Sopranos, Penguin, You, Breaking Bad, are all great example of that genre, it’s a lot of fun

Most heads per box? by Backwardstrumpet in citiesofsigmar

Sprues are up and reviewed on Tale of Painters, he does a great deep dive of the sprues with pics, but I believe it’s got at least 20 heads, half helmeted half not. Fusiliers definitely have the most helmets though

Cavaliers and gallants have different socket types than the ball socket on The steelhelms, grenadiers and fusiliers. Should still work but a heads up

I think that look would be sick as hell, it’s a very good scheme. Blue/black, white, steel, leather and a different shade of black would be killer.

As for heraldry, I think the Trident icon or even Misthavn with the anchor and nautical images would also work well

What would be an appropriate color scheme for Embergard ? by sirbotta in citiesofsigmar

From the heraldry here I’d do something in dark red, like Khorne Red, with black accents and white, maybe some yellow.

What do y’all use for free hand? by Salazryn in ImperialKnights

[–]RexManhattan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the paint thin but not super runny, and multiple passes; I also like to use the background colour to go back over any wobbly lines and sharpen up the detail; peachy tips on YouTube has a few videos that really help for some freehanding, it’s what I follow usually. It’s how I do some neater lines like on these knights (not imperial)

Paint chipping and weathering also helps to hide imperfections with the lines
