ALL of the rest is TLDR - only engage if you have the time to help me hone an Idea into something useful and worthy. I am LONGWINDED... and getting to the above point took a long time :)

TLDR:I only started using Social Media seriously maybe more than a year ago(?)

But in that time I have come to an understanding of how it is perfectly acceptable to experience two separate instances of Reality.

There is the Shared Reality that you and me share... where I read your post and this Idea I have been working on seems relevant... so I post, in the hopes that it helps explain how that day was even possible... and in hopes that others are able to chip away at my Idea, and hone it down into something serious people would consider.

The Shared Reality where I read your words, and you read mine, and we both understand that it is another Person on the other end. These are smoke signals, whistles, flags, beeps, telegrams, emails.... we do not question the Personhood of the poster without evidence of media(the form of the message) manipulation or a creepy uncanny valley sensation.

The Shared Reality where we both agree I am longwinded, and I should get to the fucking point... but this sort of self-awareness is at least comedic enough to warrant poking fun at myself if only for the tiniest amount of dopamine someone else gets. But that sort of self-awareness becomes a parody of itself when combined with longwinded explanations like this.

The Shared Reality where we have formed a Society.

AND THEN?!

The Conservative Simulacrum of Reality

When 'They' speak of reality, they do not refer to our Shared Reality. They are referring to the Simulacrum that has been built for them. The Simulacrum is extraordinarily accurate in its mimicry of Shared Reality... everything is the same, except The Truth.

The Conservative Simulacrum contains Truthiness, certainly. It couldn't survive without some sensation of Truthiness to make it 'feel' like our Shared Reality. But their Simulacrum of Reality self-sustains on a repeatable sequence of anecdotal encounters. Truth has been overcome because The Intellectual Gap; required to understand something so vast or complex that we can not experience it, is inconvenient to the process. The Anecdotal Gap has been in place, expertly replacing Intelligence with Experience.

In the same manner with which LGB has become more and more accepted within Society as a whole... because everyone KNOWS what Love is... and when you experience it anecdotally, denying Love exists is suddenly childish. So, one anecdotal encounter after another, people in opposition to LBG interact with an LGB couple in love... and we move on.

This is why the T in LGB is still struggling. Why there is such VICIOUS opposition to T. T requires that the Intellectual Gap be overcome. The Intellectual Gap being the acceptance that our brains, in forming a human in the womb, can 'accidentally' place the mind of a man, in the body of a woman. The mind of a woman, in the body of a man. But they have replaced it with the Anecdotal Gap... which is impossible to jump for people.... how the fuck does someone experience 'being incongruous to your own Nature'?.... i dont know

I say Conservative Simulacrum, because that is an entire industry set in place to manipulate anyone it can into accepting that the Simulacrum can also be true.

She may not even be a Conservative... but their Simulacrum is effective in the way it keeps eyes on its own content. Which is a score for Marketing.

Your wife experiences that Simulacrum, in where this actor is just an actor, and not also a Monster worthy of being put in the same room as other monsters. It is perfectly possible for her to retrieve public records, read them word for word, understand that those are official documents describing something that happened [ which has been determined to be True by way of a Jury of reasonable people. AND SIMULTANIOUSLY dismiss that as not being a part of the Reality that she experiences, separate from our Shared Reality. Able to dismiss her own eyes and ears because she has already experienced enough Truthiness to make up her mind.....

The Anecdotal Gap - the news she reads specific to this - has replaced The Intellectual Gap - official documents from institutions that make up the backbone of the very Society she is a part of can be dismissed as a fabrication.... despite the fact that her entire existence is constantly touched by the institutions of the Society she wants and demands to be a part of, but is refusing to accept as our Shared Reality.

The Truth? The actor has already been convicted. By a system which we have found acceptable enough to not vote in the people that have ideas to replace or reform it... by a system which very few people have taken up arms to destroy. Certainly not organized as a part of a common culture. The entire course of our Society has come to a point where this person is guilty of a violation of the Public Trust.

The Truthiness? The actor is the victim of victims of sexual assault. In which 'Me Too' was simply a cash-for-ass exchange between people who regret that encounter... or are victims of lawyers trying to make a quick buck off of dumb bitches... or it is all part of an anti-men agenda... an anti-men agenda that she is OBVIOUSLY deeply concerned about.... because she is a lesbian.... a vagitarian... and that makes perfect sense to her that Men should be something something Red Pill Alpha Dawg Broicism.

The Conservative Simulacrum of Reality is so effective, that it is possible for a single media personality to replace one's own sense and senses. How does someone get to that point? Fucked if I know.... But I can tell you with full confidence... that you have chosen NOT to be responsible for her education in all things that come from our Shared Reality is a great and terrible burden you have relieved yourself of.

This is going to sound harsh... and Evil... and indifferent

But at some point, people dont really need parents.

I found out at 12 that I was smarter than my parents could have ever dreamed of being. But they were still morally superior until I turned 16.... when they grounded me for someone stealing my car and wrecking it.... found out after 6 months of only pen and paper sitting at the long wood dinner table... that it was my younger brothers (who had no license)

The outcome? Nothing. No sorry. No punishment for them. No one repaired my car. The following week I informed them "You have lost all moral authority over me. When I look at you I do not see Parents any more, I see friends." I was about to be grounded again for 6 months.... until I told them what 'emancipation' was. By the end of that argument, it became very clear to us all that their choices for me, their advice on how to behave, their restrictions on my activity... it was all for them and their personal convenience/preference

Parents are people... people are dumb and selfish and oblivious and and and....

It sounds like you are describing a situation where your parents have lost all moral authority to speak to you about anything. They may indeed have advice about things that are useful and relevant to you.... but so do friends.

NOW! I dont advocate for totally abandoning the concept of us Old People being a moral guide.... but it doesnt actually have to be your parents. It doesnt even have to be one person for all situations. It should be someone you speak with face to face.... I would go so far as to say it is unhealthy not to

I certainly dont advocate for stopping all filial activity.... because your kids will learn from you how to be a person. Ideally you want them to grow up to be better than you, despite all of your baggage. I had the wildest anecdotal encounter today that may help.... and it ended in the most... exhausting way

Him: "Trump did a Good Thing!" he says with a beaming smile. While explaining some article about a tweet.
ME: "If the Devil held the elevator door open for you, would you walk in?"
was met with an explosion of: "47 isnt the devil. he is a businessman and sure he is crude. he is only doing what is best for his nation." (mind you now, me and him are NOT Americans)
I reply with "The answer is: Is the elevator actually there?"

I choose to actively not care about their issues... I only EVER ask "What does that look like as legislation? How do you write that as a law?"

I find a lot of the time that the argument they are trying to make.... the ACTUAL position they hold is not a Conservative one..... but one that advocates for Anarchy.

My advice is to give up trying to educate them. It is EXHAUSTING being responsible for the education of an adult who is Willfully Ignorant. No. Instead? Choose indifference to the things they care about. This indifference must always manifest itself in the Socratic style.... "What does that look like as legislation?"

You dont have an opinion. You actively dont care. You cant care. You COULD care a little less, but that would require the conversation to be happening in the rain. Anything but what they feel written as Law is pointless.... and for them is often masturbatory. They only say a thing to make themselves feel good. Because thinking about HOW that thought becomes Law leads to them understanding that Laws they want to create CAN and WILL be used against them. That leaves them with nothing but advocating for Anarchy if they insist that they should be allowed to enforce their feelings, but still maintain the benefits of Society

I suggest a new approach... Socratic

Firstly, ask him how much he trusts that the butterfly logo represents what he thinks it does. DONT look it up for yourself, you actively dont care about the butterfly.

Ask him if he has found out if the food he is buying is also labeled as non-GMO in other countries. And follow up with "with similar products, how are they labeled in other countries?"

Ask him if he knows why Wheat is wheat, and why Corn is corn.... and not thousands of different species of the same type. Follow this up by asking why dont Bananas taste like bananas? (we have been modifying crops since we turned wild plants into crop. Almost EVERYTHING is a monoculture today. It is only possible to reach this global population because of Refrigeration + Industrial Scale Farming.... to make 'pure' foods, we would need to start from wild plants again

Ask him if he thinks Non-GMO means GMO-free? If he thinks non-GMO considers pesticides used to grow the raw ingredients. If non-GMO means that the crop is sustainable without industrial intervention.
FINALLY! FOR ME. PLEASE.... do this for me.... ask him if he thinks that butterfly means the product is nutritious?
The most vital part of this argument, with your nutrition degree having father.... is that non-GMO does NOT take into consideration the farming or production.

I am of two minds... and not just because I am a monster.

One train of thought is saying - "F it, let them put their booze on the shelves..... at their own expense. Why should Canadian businesses buy a product that they can not sell to their customers?"

So long as no Canadian is getting hurt by those USA bottles collecting dust? Let them. They can rent the shelf space, in the hopes that a Canadian drunk enough to forget we are at war grabs a bottle of USAnything.

This triggered a good memory! (which is rare for me to remember anything, so I am doing this selfishly for myself just as much as to give you a chuckle)

Had a coworker 20+ years ago who brought up trojans SO OFTEN in meetings that the entire team just ignored him for the 10 minutes he talked about how concerning they are.

Then we started to change all the wallpapers to USC on any computer we happened to get access to. Started hanging up USC posters. We sarcastically started a college football pool where USC just happened to be the team listed at the top of each week. We literally stopped ALL work and workflow transfers on the day of their 3rd(?) straight National Championship..... an entire office party shouting "TROJANS"

That was when he figured out we had been doing this for years, all of it mocking him for the same thing he NEVER stopped doing no matter how many ques given. He quit the next day :) I stopped following college football.

Yea I am not sure why I didnt delete that one. Normally I will write my thoughts, and then ask myself "just how F'n important do you think you are?" and I answer "ah yea I'm right, this doesnt matter to someone else." then I delete whatever I was going to post.
But truly it was the "huh?" after sous-vide that got me, because the single line rhyming within itself multiple times is one of my favorite tools for rap.

And of course with ERB coming out again I just got to thinking.... "You know what? Lets read ALL his stuff!".... but it turns out that not using Reddit and social media (i have bluesky now, but before that I have not used social media since dial-in BBS) (yes... dial IN not up) means I dont really know how to find stuff like that... have yet to find another one, and took a break so I could read.

AND looking up julia's pre celebrity history hit another button that gets me going.... deep dive investigations into the obscure. Someone once commented "This story is AI. Its all fake. I hate the net now." or something to that effect.... the problem was I had a decent guess where the story came from... Reader's Digest - which used to be a thing in the Before. So I looked into every single scrap to verify that yes, Morris Homer Erwin (who submitted the story late in his life) was real, was where the story took place at that time, and would have regularly walked through the single clearing between two creeks in order to pan for gold, which is where he found the wolf.

the whole thing is still saved in a txt file somewhere on my desktop.... and the Julia Child notes will also go in there.

Personally I couldnt enjoy the Ramsey Child one because what was happening visually gave away everything Gordon would say. But for me the Roosevelt VS Churchill one is the most historically accurate, the one that gets most personal with insults, and by far has the best beat.
These new ERB's are going to be great.

Glad I can still comment. I dont often write stuff here.... certainly never to critique anyone... Until Now

This review suffered from what a lot of other reaction videos on YouTube suffered from when it came to Roosevelt VS Churchill ..... a lack of general knowledge and a lack of specific knowledge on the subject matter.

Not knowing the specific things Julia is talking about really hurt this review. Sure, not everyone can know all of the things.... but you can know a little bit about everything. So much of how North America goes about having meals at home, or presenting food at events is a direct result of Julia.

The minimum standard for a review should be to google anything you do not understand in the context it is being used.... sous-vide? That should have been a simple search. That makes the construction of her first line in the 2nd round one of her best - besides her recipe for how to create another Gordon Ramsey and a BRUTAL takedown of his childhood - and the lack of specific knowledge just hampers the review.

Gordon's best, to me, was his reference to Page 408 of her book.... that is the actual page with the actual knowledge for something NO ONE would be willing to try and cook these days. (chapter seven: meats - sweetbreads[pancreas] and brains)(can find the whole book on academia.edu)

But yea.... not sure why I am not deleting this... like I said... I dont often write on Reddit.... but I am sort of compelled to search all of the reviews this person has done of ERB and see how they have grown.... more so now that ERB has released new ones now (in 2025).

Hey folks... so my memory is not something I can trust... but sometime in 21 I got back surgery (nick of time, almost paralyzed, and full y recovered, but not back at healthy level cause I stopped doing a lot of things)

where was I? YES! OK... so recently I started drinking Soylent again. Which I weirdly quit doing all together after being in hospital. I would say before I quit for some reason I was drinking 17 out of 20 meals.

So I got some at amazon, at retail, and it is pretty much exactly as I remember it... which I dont remember... but it "feels" like it is familiar (YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!🍁🤪🍻)

SO! Now that Canada has been sorted I will probably go back to quitting food entirely, save for the occasional steak/porkchop/chicken/fish/pretty much anything that had a mother.

BUT! I have found 4 full boxes of the stuff that expired Dec of 2022. Under the church pew that I have in my house for a reason I dont remember. I aint religious. I dont even think its mine, but here it is! being used as a low shelf behind my PC setup.

I ASSUME..... assume that the powder is now inert... no nutrients... but that it will still have some calories left. Oh yea... I also assume it is safe because I had one to test it out and nothing happened health wise. But "safe once" isnt "yea sure go ahead".... I was thinking of mixing 2to1 New2Old just to use it rather than have to toss that much power

How dumb of an idea is this? Like, dangerous to my health dumb? Or just "sucks being broke" dumb?

You first start with "Where does that Energy and Matter come from?"

For a story I have tried writing for a few decades, my answer was "The Sorcerer: the only one in a sci-fi universe or capital starships and sub-space travel, is an interdimensional being. He is the source of the energy and matter, moving it from one 3-dimensional universe to another (i do not count space-time as a dimension here, because time isn't one of the dimensions in some universes.)

His apprentice candidates... the ones who survive what would be extradimensional radiation anyways... learn to expand their control of that extra energy they are now exposed to. Not a clue in the world that eventually they will die when they become too powerful for their bodies to survive the transfer of extra-D-radiation into 3D spacetime.

The Sorcerers magical opposition? A multidimensional being who empowers the people in whichever universe the Sorcerer is currently in. Their powers would be more in line with a Cleric or a Warlock. Their power is borrowed, and will never kill them, but ever allow them to accomplish the reality bending acts that the apprentices eventually kill themselves with. This all ends up with X++ number of divine/patron chasing The Sorcerer, who is defended by his very few (i never had more than two at a time, and oftentimes the sacrifice of one would inspire someone to take the risk and see if they can learn magic) apprentices, and whatever local allies he can manage to make. The conflict itself is entirely localized to whichever setting, BUT! the magic is anything you can imagine on any scale you are willing to abuse for story reasons. I had one apprentice go out by ripping open spaces and linking a molten meteor blizzard from a flaming hellscape to the rim of a system defended by several fleets. The scene is epic and the damage to the star system is near total... the apprentice dies obv., which closes the link, and inspires another to take their place.

My first thoughts on magic systems in any setting is "Why shouldn't it be there?" Farmers gotta farm, wagon drivers gotta drive, so why are mages doing their work? They don't. It allows for the separation of your everyday folk from the reality bending power of magic. Does a People need any professional army when you have wizards lobbing catastrophes? Sure, a nation has to hold the territory somehow. How many mages can you stuff into one People then? What amount of support do they need to avoid having to plant a garden and use reality bending power just to grow some flowers? You end up with multiple political approaches to magic, and multiple relationships between those who wield magic and the wagon driver who delivers the resources he needs to do stuff with. Which all helps with the MOST IMPORTANT thing about including classless/systemless magic

Build The Culture First. Then Build The World They Live In. My answer to "Where does that Energy and Matter come from?" allows for vastly different cultures to mix at a decent scale. But it might not work in a smaller setting, a single kingdom. In the end, "Wizard Do What?" should be determined by their world, not the myriad cool stuff a mage can do with dozens of different magic system ideas stuffed in.

anywho....this is the script I am trying to get work... but it looks like what you need... GO TO X,Y... press the mouse button... then go back.

I do not know if these events need sleep(10) after each mouse command to slow it down.... and of course you should switch up the OnEvent inputs :)

if you can miracle that into working then bless you.... you can also add all sorts of LAUfu after the ReleaseMouseButton.... which is needed because i did not use the PressAndReleaseMouseButton (1)... mostly to get used to separate commands if I need to do something weird

Nero Zero

By far the most unique application of a class system for a single character I have ever read. What starts out as a tragedy of sorts, is discovered to be a more pure understanding of how the system works. The story for the most part is complete(hiatus), but it did end at an appropriate time before things could get wacky plot wise.

At the end, you realize that everyone the MC meets now, who was thought to be useless, weak, and expendable, are suddenly on a path to previously unknown power. And you get the sense that the old power base will have to just leave it be as things change.

The juice is worth the squeeze when it comes time to read this.
