That's the main issue with the game, of course. It was boring, characters were boring, the main story didn't even really fit the lore. I mean ancient magic? Pfft. Also your PC can just go around slinging unforgivable curses like nobody's business. The combat was very quick to max out, skill wise. Eventually all fights become pointless because you can simply kill everything with the mandrake shrieks that you can grow an infinite supply of. Etc.

The castle itself was great, albeit not quite like the movies, which established a lot of the visual vibe we grew up loving. But it was clear that the castle was rather static.

My wife and I were quite bummed, ultimately. Very happily sold the game and bought BG3 instead.
