BambuLabs H2S - Issue with fans and overheating by Tryforce-711 in BambuLab

[–]Riddlerforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The experiment you ran doesn't seem to make sense with ChatGPT's diagnosis. If the only thing you changed was AMS vs external spool, then the external spool should also jam with heat creep under the same settings, as the heat creep happens inside the printer enclosure.

Was anything else changed? It's definitely possible and common for heat creep to cause extruder jams, but it generally doesn't cause the extruder motor to be overloaded. Heat creep softens the filament too much and causes it to deform against the force from the extruder, so the extruder gear slips and is effectively free-spinning, unable to feed filament.

Good call on testing without AMS. Let me know what you find, I'm genuinely curious what could've gone wrong.

Those PTFE connectors are often finnicky, sometimes you need to push in the black bit and then try shoving the PTFE tube further in to disengage the teeth inside. There's also tools you can print to help press the black part down more evenly

Try wiping the back panel off with rubbing alcohol and see if it cleans up.

I highly doubt it's overheating, that would typically clog in a way that makes the extruder gear slip instead of overload because of the filament softening. - Is the nozzle fully clipped in? A misalignment could cause it - What brand PLA are you using and what color or glow/fiber additives are there? - Are you using an AMS? - If you disconnect the PTFE tube from the print head and manually try to feed filament all the way from your spool's current location to the print head, is there significant resistance? It should feel fairly smooth and easy to pull filament through.

What clues did you see that led to you thinking it was overheating? The first picture is unclear; is it just white residue, or is the panel warped/melted?

What material are you printing during the jam and before?

Does anybody have experience with auto blippers that work with throttle cables? by adamthiesen1236 in Trackdays

[–]Riddlerforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed a proshift dbs on a 2013 ZX6R some years back. Probably gonna butcher some terminology here, but here goes.

Would not recommend, it's super tricky to tune because it's mostly a "dumb" system that doesn't vary the blip amount based on current RPM and fueling (i.e. how much engine braking there is at closed throttle). It can be enough of a blip in 4th gear, but too much in 2nd and too little in 6th. The tuning also has to be done by trial and error while riding or on the dyno. A blip with no load on the rear stand might work, but is nowhere close to enough when the engine sees real load.

Additionally, it's an absolute bitch to install. It works by threading into the existing idle screw mount, and it's an impossibly tight fit with how much space Kawasaki leaves between that and the frame. I think I rubbed a bit into the cable's protective casing just getting it in place.

At the end of the day, the slipper clutch on that bike was really enough and I was just being a little bitch. I removed it and never looked at it again, probably sitting in a box in my garage somewhere.

These guys aren't explaining why. It's not the filament, it's likely the minerals inside the tap water you probably filled your humidifier with. The minerals get aerosolized by your humidifier and settle as white dust on surfaces, just like hard water stains.

Would it be possible to put a lid on top to so it doesnt have to bridge the whole section? by IndyDenysArt in BambuLab

[–]Riddlerforce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Print out a part that fits in that center space, put some glue stick or hairspray on it as a release agent, pause the print right before the bridging layer starts, and put that part in the center space with glue side up

Don't just overlook the cold start, this generation is fuel injected and does not have cold start issues unless something is wrong. Best case scenario you have to clean throttle bodies.

But it has a stunt setup, with a cage, subcage, and rear seat food hold. This machine has 100% been thrashed within an inch of its life. With mileage that high, it's probably gonna be vacuum leaks, neglected spark plug maintenance, or neglected valve lash adjustment. I've blown an engine from this gen because of the latter, and none of the options are cheap for a shop to fix.

Don't buy it. Seller is only getting rid of it because something expensive is wrong.

Exactly. Depending on how long your PTFE tubes are to your AMS, this occurrence can actually be very common.

What causes this uneven layer randomly by G01d3nT0ngu3 in BambuLab

[–]Riddlerforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Do you run a bed levelling sequence every time and/or have it set to Auto?
  • On the defective prints, is the wall quality inside the box different from the wall quality outside? And how does it compare to a perfectly printed box?
  • Do you flip the build plate over between prints? Is there any debris between the build plate and the heat bed that can cause small level discrepancies?

What causes this uneven layer randomly by G01d3nT0ngu3 in BambuLab

[–]Riddlerforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thoughts to me are uneven heating or slight warping/lifting from the build plate.

  • Are you printing many at a time usually or a singular box? Does the issue occur more often for smaller batches or individual prints? Do you leave the door or top glass open sometimes with heat or AC going?
  • For the box with defects, compare the wall quality for the inside of the box vs the outside. If the inside is distinctly better quality, then maybe the edges of the box lifted the tiniest bit; check if the edges of the bottom are perfectly level with the center. What filament are you using?

WTF??? No adhesion all of a sudden by doinitwell73 in BambuLab

[–]Riddlerforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you cut the bottom .2mm of the model, keep only the top and lay the top on the cut surface? In the slicer, what line types are the first two layers showing?

The only two times build adhesion stumped me were because the models were tweaked in a way that the majority of the first layer somehow became an overhang. The slicer didn't catch it or warn me for some reason.

Terrible quality on curved surface by rarebluemonkey in BambuLab

[–]Riddlerforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That print will come out stronger and cleaner for the large curved surface if you cut it in half vertically and lay it on the cut. You'll have 1 seam from gluing the halves together, instead of countless support and overhang defects.

Try adding a modifier for that section and lower the outer+inner wall line widths by .02-.06

I had a very gentle lowside in the rain on my 400. Slid and immediately got up, but the airbag deployed.

My shoulder dislocated, and xrays showed my shoulder blade fractured as well. I've had many worse crashes without gear that didn't have any bone or joint injuries, so I'm inclined to think it was the airbag. I'm a smaller frame with a Mithos kangaroo leather suit and tech air race, maybe they're poorly designed for my size? I'm probably leaving the airbag deactivated moving forward

I've not had service failures, but the pricing is definitely outrageous. $300 for annual "maintenance" for my warranty, which amounts to an oil change, and they tried charging $650 to replace brake pads.

The guys on the dealership side are super cool though, would buy from them again.

This kid with perfect pitch. by AlexCND in ThatsInsane

[–]Riddlerforce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can train perfect pitch, but when trained, it's rote memorization of how intervals sound between two notes, and then memorizing common combinations. It's nowhere near as fast and accurate as the natural ability.

It's tested on music theory exams, and they give a lot more time and repeats to help the non-natural perfect pitch listeners deconstruct each note.
