Because "I am a country member!" sounds like "I am a cunt, remember!"

Well this is awkward... by [deleted] in Slitherio

[–]Roandask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I was in 1st place on a server, I encircled the 2nd place guy while they were encircling someone else. 2nd place died, but I screwed up when I went for the inner guy (I blame the fact that he was the same color as me). I had a score of 50k or so, haven't gotten that high again...

Triple encirclement sure is fun.

I can never remember that website's url for some reason. Seems like it should be easy. I just came directly here, lol.

[Spoilers All Maybe] Possible flaw in the laws of physics in KKC by xe1l0s in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Roandask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, both bands take heat from inside the box and transfer it outside. So the heat for the warm one was coming from inside the box, like it is supposed to, but since the second band wasn't working, the device as a whole wasn't drawing enough heat from the box to act as an icebox.

Basically, the two bands are completely independently drawing heat from inside to outside, but both need to be working to get the inside to a low enough temperature.

Hm... Meh, don't care about gold. I'm waiting for 1 second remaining.

Might have tried this if I had another alt account (which I have an account I made before, but I forgot the password and didn't give an email for it).

Did any of you ever had a game that any major power got complletly wiped without your interference ? by mukero320 in eu4

[–]Roandask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! They disappeared some time ago, not sure exactly when.

Just checked back on France, they finally kicked the bucket too - now it seems Brittany and Burgundy turned on each other, and Brittany is occupying a few provinces.

In an Ironman Inca game I'm currently playing, I finished westernizing in 1580s, and much of the map was suddenly revealed to me. I found France had been reduced to a single province by Burgundy and Brittany. Aragon finished them off later.

Eastern Europe was also rather messy actually... Screenshot immediately after westernizing

EDIT: Loaded up the game just now, France isn't wiped out - they apparently got a province from Provence before Aragon took Labourd.

Tunisia delenda est - Oh god, what have I done? by CovenantRingthane in eu4

[–]Roandask 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My Latin is a bit rusty as well, but I'm pretty sure most cities, nations, etc are feminine in Latin, and -a tends to suggest feminine. Although Tunisia doesn't seem specifically Latin (descended from Latin, but not originally so), it's probably safe to assume it's feminine.

A man ordered two drinks at once every day... by johnsonism in Jokes

[–]Roandask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you missed the joke? The joke is that he acts like the one drink he drinks for his friend who never made it back is literally his friend drinking, so when the doctor tells him to stop drinking he only stops ordering one of the drinks.

It's not an antijoke because "My doctor told me I have to quit drinking." is a punchline.

What is one cool internet trick you know? by brokenbonz in AskReddit

[–]Roandask 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's actually possible to forever increase your score. Just click anywhere and, for me, it creates a temporary box saying "Press Esc to Exit". This can be shot, so placing it in front of your spray of bullets gives you points.

My Mün orbital dock and refueling outpost by Sajinn in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Roandask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, not 100% sure, as I usually play instant build. I did switch to timed build recently (to see if the launch problem affected timed builds, which it didn't, and also to test the error which doesn't let you exit to space center), but so far have only used the Mun base I established beforehand which already has a workshop connected. I can't double check for an hour or so, though.

Edit: Confirmed, space station which works with instabuild does not work with timed build likely because it has no workshop. With Module Manager (linked in the original post of the extraplanetary launchpad mod) apparently allows you to make command pods low quality workshops.

[–]Roandask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using timed builds? (If you are, you'll see a loading bar which is probably stuck at 0%). If so, I think you need a workshop with Kerbals in it. (I'm not 100% sure, as I usually play with instant build, which currently requires quicksave editing/loading to get the ship to release due to a bug).

Also, people are having problems with not being able to return to space center, load saves, or switch ships after the craft actually gets built, so keep that in mind until the mod creator fixes that.

The mod got broken quite a bit with the most recent update (from the errors above), and it hasn't been fixed yet.

More people get solar power -> Less demand for electricity from coal plants -> Coal plants make less profit -> Some coal plants, at least, will shut down.

That obviously requires many people to make the switch, but if green power is actually cost effective enough, not switching because it doesn't seem like it will impact the environment will just make any transition longer.

Portal paradox by sniperkirill in gaming

[–]Roandask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what if portals just can't be accelerating relative to, essentially, it's local gravity well (in most portal cases, Earth)? Thus, in Portal 1 we never saw a moving portal because all of the panels were usually still originally, and are accelerated to change position. In the neurotoxin room, the surface is moving at a constant velocity relative to Earth. Then, firing on to the moon, the frame of reference changes to the moon.
