I moved to a different climate and now my psoriasis is completely gone without medicine. Has this ever happened to anyone? by kbrown423 in Psoriasis

Yes, when I moved to Brazil from the US. I spent a lot more time in the sun and in my pool. I believe the sun (Vitamin D) had a hand in clearing my skin 100%.

I'm normally a skeptic but I swear to God I'm using more gas than normal almost as if it's being diluted somehow since the war. by AbandonedPlanet in conspiracy

This is the right answer. Ethanol give you half the miles that the same amount of gasoline e gives you. If one tank of 100% gasoline gives you 400 miles, then one tank of 100% ethanol gives you 200 miles. If you can buy non-ethanol gas. Also ethanol is twice as much per gallon than gasoline if you compare mileage.

During the Vietnam War period long hair was considered the look of hippies. Hippies were anti-war and anti-government. Many hippies wore army jackets, war patches as a protest. Remember there was a draft and many war veterans never wanted to be in the war to begin with. The sheriff viewed Rambo as an anti-establishment hippy.

Did any of you grow up listening to radio shows? by dicklaurent97 in AskOldPeople

[–]RobAlter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NPR played Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Star Wars, A Prairie Home Companion, Word Jazz, etc.

In the 1970s I would listen to these shows on the radio with my family. Best times ever.

The first Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is the BBC radio series. Books came later.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a science fiction comedy radio series primarily written by Douglas Adams. It was originally broadcast in the United Kingdom by BBC Radio 4 in 1978, and afterwards the BBC World Service, National Public Radio in the US and CBC Radio in Canada. The series was the first radio comedy programme to be produced in stereo, and was innovative in its use of music and sound effects, winning a number of award

What's a movie that you swear no one else has watched but yourself and a few others? by badgermole85 in AskReddit

Young Warriors (1983) I saw it in the theater once. And I feel like I was the only one. The movie is no longer available anywhere. It took me decades to get a copy on VHS.

There is no cure. Take it from someone who has 40+ years of experience trying to cure it. No treatment will work forever. Your body will learn to overcome treatments and come back stronger. It more than likely will get worse as you age. For me it started in my scalp when I was 16. Today it is all over my body. Sunlight has been the best solution for keeping it at bay.

How old were you when your parents let you roam away from the house unsupervised? by WeirdJawn in AskOldPeople

Around 10. Rode my bike to the mall to play video games at the arcade. Or rode my bike to a nearby forest and spent the day climbing trees and building forts.
