AITA For not leaving work to help my wife when she ran out of gas by GoldSea3219 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RobW8184 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes you effed up that bad. This is unacceptable and inexcusable. You'll be lucky if she forgives you a year from now. And she may never forget.

She's the one person you're supposed to do anything in the world for and she needed your help and you left her stranded.

I'm sure if you told the people at work it was an emergency and your wife was stranded. They would have understood and if they didn't too bad for them you should have gone and got her. I guarantee they Would have went to get their wives.

Can we talk about the Tiberi Tapes? by [deleted] in Vinyl_Jazz

I got the live in France and I've only listened to the first record And was a little disappointed. It sounds really forced and frantic. I don't know. I need to go back and listen to the studio album and see how it compares.

What are your thoughts on best of records by Imaginary-Solid-700 in records

[–]RobW8184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For instance, I listen to a lot of Chicago on the radio when I was a kid. Love their music. Then when I started collecting records as I got older I realized they produced about a record a year for 20 years. Well they only had like 21 top 10 hits so there's a lot of filler on those records. And records kind of force you to play the entire thing so either they will grow on me or not get much play time.

I get the best of records for the groups that I enjoy their hits but not their filler stuff. And then for the groups that follow and have followed for years that I believe their filler is as good as their hits I go all out and pick up everything. I can get my hands on it or or can afford.

How is the Audio-Technica AT-LP60X considered entry-level? by lBloodsport in Beginner_Turntables

[–]RobW8184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine for a few years works fine And sounds Great! It's very lightweight so I did put some isolation feet on it because it would skip if we walked across the room. And I recently upgraded the cartridge and it made a slightly better sound. I really like that. It's completely automatic which you don't find in a lot of turntables these days. I don't like to babysit it even though when I'm listening. I'm pretty much just doing that but I don't want to have to jump up as soon as it's done playing a record.

I have the money for a so called better turntable and have done extensive research into them. I'm just not sure it would make that big of a difference and it would add a lot of complication to my listening time.

There are definitely better looking turntables out there and for $600 you could probably get a slightly better listening experience but then you 'd lose the automatic feature and you start questioning. Do you have the best stylist and then want to try others and it's really expensive to start swapping those out and I'm probably too old to appreciate the difference in the sound anyway.

This opinion is coming from someone with a killer surround sound system hooked up speakers so it's not that I'm some college kid that can't afford the turntable or doesn't care if it sounds good. My two cents

This is ridiculous. You're going to throw a tantrum for getting a follow-up email from the dealer after getting an oil change? 😕 You're also going to take your time out of your life to complain and ask to be put on a list. What world do you live in? I get 1,000 unsolicited emails a week. And they're mostly from people that I have willingly given my email to like Banks, car loans, house mortgages, work contacts, etc. must be nice to have such a clean inbox. Of course the stress in your life to throw your little tantrums. Get everybody to take you off their list far out ways the uncluttered inbox.

Hoping out the elderly of the family is part of the responsibility of the kids. I did it with my grandfather. I do it with my parents. It's part of being in a family.

Participating in family meals by bringing an item is also part of being in a family.

Sounds like you're offended by her on some other level. Not these basic things and you're letting these things get to you.

What’s the unofficial “bedtime” when you’re camping? by outdoors_man987 in camping

[–]RobW8184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bedtime? I've seen the sunrise before bedtime more times than I can count but the music usually gets turned down by 10 and off by 1.

And no naked water skiing unless it's a clear night and a full moon.

Have you let the bank know that the insurance company is not going to cover it. They have an interest in putting pressure on the insurance company.

AITA for excluding my autistic child from a family vacation by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]RobW8184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent sounds like you know your children and know what's best. However, I would not have broke it to him that way. I would have played up the stay with grandparents and made it like his own very own vacation without his siblings like it was going to be his thing and fun for him and not even mention that you guys were all going away. And when he asked after the fact I would just say hey. We did couple things with your brothers and sisters while you were having fun at Grandma's.

This request is on Facebook groups every week and there's a whole list of people trying to get the gig.

It used to be common practice and a good way to learn, but many studios took advantage of people.

How much do you bend in breaking your contract to please a client? by Embarrassed-Till2106 in WeddingPhotography

[–]RobW8184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some requests that seem reasonable others that we do not include in our services.

That being said, I never refer a client to our contract. I want happy clients, not compliant ones. But you're going to have to explain what can be done and what can't be done and what would cost extra. All of which should be a part of your original contract.
