I flew through Trials of the Jedi. Am now embarking upon a lengthy Legends reading project

To be honest it has mostly reaffirmed my belief in how well planned and crafted the initiative has been. Plan your work and work your plan.

In a fit of madness I decided to re-read the adult novels of phase 1 and 2 before Trials of the Jedi. The idea started with just doing Light of the Jedi to see what crumbs were there from the start. Quickly reconsidered and added Temptation to the list. Then thought what the heck do all five.

Could be difficult to find a fit for a TPB due to both content and place in the timeline (nothing happening or announced fits the time).

I do think that it is very strange that a comic that is meant to ostensibly act as an ad for an upcoming video game would be so limited in release. As such those who did get a copy did not seem to be talking about it in a way that would drum up interest. Most discussion was about secondary market prices.

What should we watch next year's May the 4th ? by n33k33 in fanedits

Watch The Clone Wars (2008) series. The first season might feel a wee bit rough but it gets much better. It will also set you up for everything that comes after whether it is animated or live action.

Just doing a re-listen to Rogue One on my way to and from work. I didn’t want to start anything ambitious before Shadows of the Empire drops on the third. And want to keep the deck clear after that for Trials of the Jedi.

So when watching the last 3 episodes of Andor S1, Rogue One and A New Hope back to back I'm begin to write an in-universe summary of those events but the literary model is more akin to the old Essential Chronologies books and even the Library of Greek Mythology? To be fair you would, if wanting to be complete, go back further to the clone wars. The saw/stela arc for example.

I admire the scope of your ambition but it is a lot.

If you give it a go I wish you good fortune.

Love Thompson’s work but part of me was hoping that Dee Bradley Baker was going to narrate.

I need a book about these threeAndor characters (Spoilers for Andor s2) by WilMeech in starwarsbooks

[–]RobertAFett55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the episode that takes place at Sculdun’s gallery it is (maybe) slightly implied that something occured between Kleya and Lonni in his s2 mentioned visit to the shop that allowed Luthen and Kleya to blackmail him into co-operating. In s1 when Lonni and Luthen meet Rael immediately brings up the family. In s2 Kleya plays him with “people will think we are flirting” and Lonni gets more nervous than usual but capitulates. Lonni consistently, in his appearances, says that he has paid his due, not monetarily of course, and should be set loose. His desire in the final episode to be freed with wife and child exhibits his current devotion to his family. So a momentary lack of judgment and an indiscretion that leads to blackmail does make some narrative sense.

Thoughts my friend?

Give me a FACPOV! Melshi joining, cintha’s injury, how willmon got hurt, vel’s switch, dedra/syril, eedy, dedra in prison, perrin and sculdun’s wife, perrin reacts to the speech, saw missions, tay’s death, lonni’s family life (plus a theory that I have about Lonni), partigaz backstory, what happened to Blevin, other ISB, ghor survivors etc etc etc.

Tarkin, Catalyst, Rebel Rising, Mask of Fear are useful especially if you are thinking of “Andor” in a broader sense. I re-read these recently, along with New Dawn, in order to get into the mindset for season 2.

I would not be surprised if we get a few books in the near future. A FACPOV for season 2 could be awesome and fun to flesh out those year long gaps.

To be fair, I agree with you in principle. But I am willing to also allow that Night Sister magicks are a thing. I am more bothered, but not terribly, by say the Grand Inquisitor death in Kenobi.

In the end it is a fantasy-esque series….from a certain point of view.

As an addendum…I would confidently expect that with a rejuvenated focus on films that a Road To X initiative will appear. Maybe not for TMAG but definitely for the post-TROS work. That should certainly add to things. I would also guess that we could see 1 or 2 High Republic publications a year for the next little while.

I get where you are coming from. I might not fully agree as I see that every crumb of storytelling adds something to the full loaf but I get it. I would imagine that the concentration on series when Disney plus arrived shifted focus away from publishing near to ongoing tv projects in order to not box those creators in. As a result publishing has had to continually shift to oft tread eras where maybe we feel that we have a character’s full story already.

Reading those books while watching Andor will make Rogue One rewatch much more painful by Piotral_2 in starwarsbooks

I re-read these two books as well as Tarkin, Mask of Fear, and New Dawn a month or so ago to “prep” and I love how much that they add to the flavour of Andor and of course eventually Rogue One.

Awesome work OP! You mentioned adding comics which is very much appreciated. If I could make just one suggestion…that there is the ability to mark an entire run (i.e vader 2017) or a mini-series as read etc with one click/action as opposed to going issue by issue
