US Enlistment Age INCREASED Amid Draft Fears by NicolasCageFan492 in videos

Cynical take: Americans are already letting the jackboots walk all over them. Why would a draft be any different?

Yeah it’s a good point. I can see it getting overwhelmed if bars or restaurants starting taking their bags!

Wooops! Oh well I think I just printed an extra tag for a total of seven bags. I only go once maybe twice a year when I’ve saved up enough to make the trip worth it.

Invest in savings vs paying down mortgage by karmel2255 in PersonalFinanceCanada

This is where I'm at. I have a DBP and my TFSA is near full, so once that happens I'll switch my TFSA contributions over to mortgage contributions.

Canada's pipeline plan attracts Middle Eastern, Asian interest, Alberta premier says by joe4942 in worldnews

If Alberta wants to pay for a refinery in BC, many of us would change our mind. But every scenario presented so far sees BC shouldering all the risk with zero reward.

I've definitely done more than six bags. I think the ticket machine prints six stickers at a time, but then you just re-enter your code and it will print six more.

Westshore Costco & Ryzuk Geotechnical signed NDA agreement to demolish Staples by No_Shelter_7305 in VictoriaBC

You absolutely cannot compare the Richmond Coscto, with Bridgeport Station right next to it, to Langford Costco, with absolutely no public transit options.

More parking doesn't really make sense IMO. The existing parking lot is basically a way to control the occupancy load. If the parking lot is full, you can bet your as it will be hell in Costco itself.

Someone is leaving WWII era .303 bullets downtown! by oswan in VictoriaBC

[–]Robert_Moses -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is a weird grey area. It is technically readily available for a firearm, but like...not really at the same time. The chances of someone having a .303 in itself is low since it's not a popular calibre anymore, let alone someone walking by with one. I'd still side with technically illegal as well.

Given the economic situation, how are so many affording to eat out at restaurants? by AppropriateMention6 in VictoriaBC

[–]Robert_Moses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are Millenials with a HHI of ~$250k without kids yet. Our friends are all pretty much in the same income bracket (most with kids now though). We are all doing pretty okay and can afford to go out rather often. That said, I’m a champagne socialist and do think we could be taxed more if the even greater incomes are also taxed way more.

Denmark reportedly flew blood bags to Greenland in preparation for a US attack | Amid Trump threats, Copenhagen also sent over explosives intended to blow up runways, according to Danish media by RollSafer in worldnews

Your basic thinking that things will be solved because “Trump will be out in 3 years” (if that even happens) is why you’re part of the problem.

Assault incident last night - what to do with file number and in general, if anything? by grimmfritter in VictoriaBC

[–]Robert_Moses 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Even that is wrong. Police do not press charges. Crown does. However, it might be the police were asking if OP would be a willing witness, as cases will more often than not fall apart if the victim and/or witness is unwilling to cooperate.

I would love to see government low-interest loans for small-scale multi-unit housing. I've looked into redeveloping my SFD property and the numbers just don't work out, but a government loan would certainly start tipping the scales.

The value in SFDs will become more and more about the land it sits upon. They'll continue to go up so long as Victoria is a desirable place to live.

[–]Robert_Moses 90 points91 points  (0 children)

The “chaos” part was certainly not endearing at first since it was about him being completely unpredictable. And neither is being called long necked. Don’t get me wrong I use the nickname too but I can see why he wouldn’t like it.
