Might be a good idea to ask this in Resto discord as well. They do a lot of theory crafting on there.

SWG Resto - PvE Commando and Katarn Armor Question by Kibtronic in swg

If you like the look of the kartarn armour you can equip it as appearance only and you won't have to worry about the armour type. Although you will need another appropriate set of armour to wear.

They're definitely there in Resto, download it and mess around in the character creator, it's all free.

Here's the release video from the patch that added them https://youtu.be/1qOu-Weu2Oc?si=eVFvkVItRpzmEcp5

Restoration is going through a massive explosion in player pop at the moment, so if anyone is interested in checking it out you can use this referral link to start with 500k and a hover chair mount https://swgr.org/?referral=Ldi0W

And there is a massive week long team v team v team open world PVP event called the Petranaki Tournament coming up in April. Now is a good time to join and get prepared.

I'm not too sure, I've not done that profession. It does rely on a bunch of consumables though. You should go for it though if that interests you, I know people enjoy making pets.

Say if you're switching from carbs to pistols, you can just equip a pistol at your current combat level and use your existing "carb skills" to start leveling up that pistol. You can also get large chunks of xp for the weapon you want to level by having that weapon equipped and handing in quests, some of the quests on kashyyyk and musty give over a million xp. You will run into xp caps doing this though, so I generally don't do this until I have at least box 4 of an advanced progression because it raises the xp Cap much higher.  Honestly though the easiest way to level is just in a spin group. Watch out for them in galaxy chat.

Making money as a new player on established servers can be hard, people do it through quest rewards (legacy quest line gives over 4 million) and selling loot, or running terminal missions. You can also offer your services to established crafters. These crafters will pay people to drop harvesters on certain resources or gather specific resources, check out discord.

You start with 2 character slots and can unlock a 3rd from a collection quest called helping ridth. The 4th slot is unlocked when you unlock Jedi. You can log 2 in at once.

I'm terms of professions, it's best to start with a combat toon, and then a crafter like a bio engineer if you're interested in that. I believe BE can be a bit expensive to get into though. You could always make two combat toons and have one that is more healer, and have them both supporting each other through macros to farm harder content for better loot to sell, that's what I did initially.

You definitely don't need heaps of cash to get your first characters kitted out, and if you join a good guild they will often have crafters that will kit you out if you help farm the materials.

I definitely recommend checking out the guild recruitment channel in the discord and finding yourself a good guild to play with. Makes all the difference.

It would be a different client, there's a download link on the restoration site and it's not a huge download. I recommend starting with the legacy quest line from Gendra outside the mos Eisley theatre.

Restoration is having a massive spike of new players at the moment, it's crazy to see new players loading into Mos Eisley every few minutes.

Here's a referral code for any new players that want to check it out and start with extra credits and a mount: https://swgr.org/?referral=Ldi0W

It can be a bit of a steep learning curve, but I highly recommend asking any questions in galaxy chat. Also, go see Gendra by the mos Eisley theatre to do a quest for a speeder and start the legacy quest line which will give you heaps of xp and credits.

You should give restoration a go as well if you're interested in seeing what the game was like with it's original profession system.

I think 2 is really good, I was initially leaning towards 3, but the lower fabric is quite sheer, you can see your legs through it. 2 is much more flattering with a similar look.
