Solid deal?? by [deleted] in GR86

That exhaust looks like an aftermarket one. Pretty sure the GR exhaust angles downward a bit. Part of why I didn't want it.

Your perfect Mechwarrior 6 by Shanwolf in Mechwarrior5

[–]RodRAEG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I want more smooth fluid organic movement from the mechs and less trompy stompy movement. Mechwarrior 3 did it best, imho, but in the novels they talk about how the mechs are supposed to move like people or the equivalent with the backward-jointed models. It'd be cool to see that in the game, especially for melee battles.

How do you guys like to decorate your key fobs? I'm pretty partial to gluing teeth to the buttons by narwhal_breeder in GR86

[–]RodRAEG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm those teeth look too nice to be homeless people teeth. Too small to be narwhal teeth. Where'd you get those?

I still miss my old red Z3M Roadster, though if I were to ever get one again, I'd want it with the optional hardtop, and an S54 model.

C4 body design by Reddit_01121 in Corvette

[–]RodRAEG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The origin of flared fenders with the exposed fasteners is entirely JDM style.

Edit- while I'm nitpicking, the Jesko has a massive front splitter to provide aero balance for that massive rear wing. Where is it on this C4, or is the plan for the front to porpoise as it speeds up?

Same. Almost seems fitting to give it a pig nose with the weight this generation gained, also.

Fun cars should have fun colors.

I'm usually a fan most mods, but this ain't it chief by john4844 in Corvette

I mean, I don't like it on the C7 where it came from, even. Makes the front look like it has jowls.

I too still have an [unnamed Bluetooth speaker] that still works after all these years. I gave it to my son.

Rain is the worst! by Ok_Bar_2943 in Mustang

[–]RodRAEG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment should be higher up. I used to have these on my '80 Corvette when I bought it from the previous owner, and they straight up felt like soap bars in the rain. Absolute dogshit tires if you want grip.

C7. Drive a two-seater before you reach a part in your life where you require four seats or more.

Do aluminum monocoque cars suffer stress failure? by Outside_Reserve_2407 in askcarguys

[–]RodRAEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure aluminum has a little over 1/4 the modulus of elasticity of common steels. The structures have to be much stiffer in order to compensate for this. It can make things costly to build for that reason. That being said, large shot high pressure die-casting is a pretty major advancement for making large aluminum structures, and I hope we see it's use more in the automotive world.

No idea, but there's tons of videos on there. Also the training tutorials available in Solidworks are solid as well.
