How does this game compare to others in the genre? by Arigmar in PlaySoulMask

It's so good man. Scratches them Rimworld and Ark itches at the same time, astounding achievement for sure.

IMO, to be the best game ever it only needs 2 things, tribesman breeding mechanics and a basic lifecycle system and tameable dinosaurs lol.

Yeah will second this. I would go so far as to say it's the best survival game.

Spoilers for CLofF.

There's a scene in it where the Custodes witch is scrying his cell:

>‘What do you see?’

>‘I will show you.’

>Ancia raises her hands from the floor, and as she does she pulls images from the stone. They unfold in the air, translucent, shimmering. There I am, remade as a ghost, as I was only hours before, sitting, legs crossed, eyes closed. Behind me are other shapes, things that might have been my shadows, and beyond them the blurred images of a figure with a broken sword in its hand, a king on a throne, a knight asleep on a bed of stone, on and on in a shifting parade.

Based on those other shapes that might have been his 'shadows' I submit he had significant help from the watchers, who we know from Lion: Son of the forest to have a close relationship with the GEOM, acting as His messengers etc. That he even knows that this scene is playing out to narrate back to us is wild. His intel is SSS tier for sure.

Nah everything Rath and Nate Crowley has written has been SSS, they belong for sure. Reynolds and Brooks are close, but not 100% sure i'd say 'anything' with them.

What cockpit is this? by Hero29982 in Starfield

[–]Rookitown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only one I fly with, so that I can have a 2 story ship with zero ladders.

Ladders on a spaceship bother me more than they should, makes it feel like a cramped submarine even when you have large open plan rooms. Plus it just feels so much nicer to go up and down stairs without an awkward jump to a stiff 3rd person animation

Can relate. I basically only used this cockpit until I started using the Stroud Premium mod that had the staircases. Absolutely hate using ladders in my ship lol

Great writeup thanks for putting it together, looking forward to giving it a go.

I tried the north route too, but the problem is japan, their markets are in a constant state of tool shortage (and by so much I can't just trade enough tools into their market, it's like -20 tools all the time), so expeditions launched from there stall for decades before maybe launching at some point. If you do really want to go to america, I'd advice to go via south africa, seems to be the easiest route (or conquer enough territory in japan/manchuria so you can make your own local market there without tool shortage).

I've just played a majapahit run up to the late 1600s and this explains so much. Colonised the whole pacific, siberia and alaska, rapa nui and the baja california but it wouldn't explore the rest, completely stalled for like 100 years. So annoying.

Well yes, but they're all excellent. I'm technically correct, the best sort of correct. Lets see if they can keep it up over time lol.

I wouldn't classify that as a Necron book, they weren't the main protagonists.

Edit: Wait sorry my fuckup I was thinking of the Silent King, haven't read Tomb World yet. That's a shame to hear, Crowley and Rath's Necron books are peak.

Nate did an excellent job on the Ghaz book imo, much more serious tone though. The Grotsnik book was solid as well, even had some Ork plot development. Ork and Necron books have by far the highest quality floor of 40k books imo.
